I ran short of cash when doing my lift and had to go with a knockoff and it is very quiet until you mash the throttle and when you first start it up. Friends who have magnaflows say it sounds and performs equally... find a local hot rod shop that is well recomended.. Modesto cal... Ricks Rod Shop..and get a new muffler that isnt as restrictive as stock..

|Hostile JEEP T.J||If you have the 4.0 flowmaster makes a super 44 offroad muffler that sounds pretty good and built to take a beating, it's black diamond covered! Won't sound good on a4 banger though. There's not really an exhaust out there that's not gonna make a 4banger sound like a weedeater on steroids!! They just don't have that much compression to give that deeper throaty tone that a 6 and better yet the 8 cylinders have!|

|Jerry Bransford||The four-banger needs an experienced muffler guy to know what muffler to install to get it to sound right. The wrong muffler will make it sound like a ricer. Don't expect any more power from any kind of a new muffler.|

|Jerry Bransford||If you want a better sound with a good quality muffler, there is absolutely no reason you need to spend $300 with Banks or another cat-back manufacturer to do that. Simply visit your local non-chain based muffler shop and they can set you up with exactly what you want for WAY less $$$. That means avoid the overpriced chain muffler shops like Midas like the plague. They have quotas to make and always overcharge the unsuspecting. And to me, these prefabbed cat-back systems sold by the various Jeep catalogs like from Banks are rip-offs that could be duplicated locally for half the cost and without the wait.|

|Jeepzcb09||No!! To expensive and dosent even sound that good. IMO my $20 glasspack sounds much better. My friend has the Banks on his 03 Sport (4.0) and half of the time,except on heavy acceleration, i cant even hear it.|

|firefighter777||I wouldn't pay 300 for it thats for sure. Like buildembig said get a good muffler (i got a flow 40) and have your local shop weld it on unless you can weld. I got mine welded on and dumped it before the axle. Paid 130 with the muffler.|

Not me, getcha a good high flow muffler and have your local shop weld it on.
But, I am not a fan of anything Banks makes

Banks Monster Exhaust? yes/no and why?
I have a 2001 Jeep TJ 4.0 hardtop on 33"s with a 4" suspension lift, a K&N FIPK, and only 41,000 miles. So far I love everything about it, except for the sound of the stock exhaust. Would anyone recommend the Banks Monster? If anyone already has it with relatively the same setup as me, do you think it's worth the $300?
