Another thing that ACE is developing is an external rail system (a partial exoskeleton you might say) to protect the B-pillar... a very vulnerable part of the 4dr jeep. They are in the process of designing a rail that clamps onto the outside of the top side rail of the cage
...and then they will have a vertical rail that will clamp onto this outside rail and the bottom rock rail and will run along the outside of the B-pillar. This will work great in the summer when you are running without a top.

|jeffk42||Not sure if you can keep the factory rails with the RR's or not.... but they mount at the same points, so I imagine you could. The RR's mount to those bolts, plus the two little nuts directly on either side of the bolts.|

Wow... This is totally a question I had. Good Stuff Maynard.
I was looking at the Rugged Ridge rails, but these might be a better for keeping the factory rails.

My first major mod to my 2010 Rubicon.. ACE ROCK RAILS!
Cost was $215 plus shipping.
These are extremely beefy rails. 2" od and 0.134" wall thickness.
They fit right under my factory rubicon rails on my JK.
Some of you will say: What, only one bolt on each end holds them on? Yes that’s true. They mount onto the frame using two of the body mount bolts per side.
However, I'm really not that concerned. There is very little space between the top of the ACE rail and the bottom of the factory rubicon rail. If they do flex upward they will make contact with the rubi rail and all the force will be transmitted along the length of the rubi rail.
I think they're perfect for those of us that have factory rails and want to leave them on. ... which I do because I don't really like the look of the pinch seam when its exposed.
So, I suspect the two different rails will work beautifully together.
