KawiTJ not really any help, but I had to put the same switch in my truck, somehow it affected my rear tail light brake lights, it was over $200 too

HeaveToo The Fog lights are totally stock. Jeep looked at that and said that the switch was the problem.

Atthehop You need to check your fog lights because it sounds like they are either not stock or the bulbs are of a highter wattage than stock. If so you need to power them through relays or you will just burn up all the new parts.

TJeepman See what you can get the parts for at "trade price", the price they sell to your local Mechanic for. I realize lots of savings that way. $2.50 for a Mopar oil filter for example.

You can also look the prices up at They usually run discounted prices. $139.00 for the multifunction switch for example.

BANGER The switch is $20.00 you need to call about the wires

Jeep parts are getting expensive

An update on my Jeep issues:

The multifunction switch in my Jeep is messed up. When my fog lights are on it got so hot that it melted the wiring harness that connects to it and it caused the switch on my high beams to fail. This switch is on the steering wheel and controls the lights, windshield wipers, fog lights, hazard lights, and things like that.

I need to replace the switch and also the wiring harness in order to fix it.

Jeep has quoted me the approximate prices:

Multifunction Switch: $220
Wiring Harness Kit: $80
Labor: $100

This is nuts. No one has these parts in stock either. If it wasn't for the wiring harness I would do the darn thing myself as the multifunction switch is easy to remove and it should be plug and play.

Am I alone in saying that the cost for parts is a bit nuts?
