|reno92||The Rene was not normal, They were all 4.0's, mine came with 3.73. They came stock with larger tires so they came with a little lower gears than the stock 4.0 5speed. Not sure if you have the auto what it would be.|

YJ's didn't have a decal on the door jamb like most other vehicles have.
The normal gear ratios are...
6cyl 5spd...3.07, 4cyl 5spd 4.10, the autos are where it gets tricky, some were 3.53, and some were 3.73, but those are the norms. anything else you would have to pull a diff cover and read the numbers on the ring gear. Most of the outer diff tags have gotten torn off over the years, or a PO switched the gears.
ALL gear ratios are stamped into the edge of the ring gear, that is the only way to be 100% sure of what the gears are.

|Fabrokoner||Either check the tag on the diff or email chrysler and ask em for your build sheet. You will need to give them your VIN.|

|YelloJ74||Check the diffs. There should be a small tag attached to the bolts that mount the diff cover that will have the ratio.|

factory gear ratio?
I'm trying to determine the factory gear ratio of 93 Renegade. Were there optional ratio's? I have the original window sticker it does'nt have a optional ratio. Is there a decal somewhere that lists the equipment the vehicle was built with?
