I actually took the time to google just one of many types available.
Pure Jeep PJ6000 - PUREJEEP Crawler Bumper D-Ring Shackle Mounts for 07-11 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec
It is based on 07-11 jeep platform, but they do manufacture bolt on for tj's.

Conversely they offer a product in the market that bolts on to the bumper with grade eight bolts (4 of them) and has the ring attached to that. It does not have to be welded.

|Jerry Bransford||As advised above, don't weld anything used for recovery to the bumpers, it'd probably tear right off on the first hard pull. Shackle tabs used for things like D-rings must be through-welded as mentioned above, and the bumper they are through-welded through needs to be pretty stout.|

Yes cut a hole, make sure the fit is tight. Set the anchor point so it sticks out about 1/4" in the back, then put 3/16" full welds on both sides.

|TJe0454||cool thanks, what do u mean by welded on both sides? like cut a hole in the bumper, put the mount through and then weld the back and front seams?|

|HyperBuzzin||Also, it's best to have them go through the bumper and welded on both sides|

|swille||I would weld them at the points where the bumper attaches to the frame that is going to be the strongest point.|

welding anchor shackles/d rings to warn bumper??
Hey all. Getting d rings and mounts for my warn rear rock crawler bumper. Where would u reccomend getting them welded and would they be strong enough to be useful for recovery points? I was planning on putting them on right above where the bumper is attached from the bottom.
