coachholland Here's one on Youtube if you need it. It's for installation of a soft top with factory hardware.

NAVYCHIEF pick and choose. some of these guys will give good info and some will treat you like crap. you have to be able to filter out the crap. scott howard is good at what he does. some newer guys think they know it all. just be careful and read everything twice.

JUST KIDDING!

Is this a Bestop product? Call our customer support people and talk with them. They really are good at this sort of thing. I don't have enough experience with a YJ top to help you out. 800-845-3567
Okay if I keep it i'll give them a call.

I found someone who wants to trade me a hard top for it so waiting for that to hopefully work out.

Wiegand Thanks for the input but there is no videos i'm finding for a YJ.

I'm pretty sure I know how to do a TJ now, from the 100s of install videos for them.
I tried for about an hour yesterday and nothing was working... The door snaps wouldn't reach all the way, the REAR especially would not get the bar in the corners of the top. I even tried to pry it over the bar, thus the new little rip I got now

There is no other way other than having the plastic strip fit in the track. Just some more advise- ensure that the roof is "centre" as clipping the sides over the doors will be difficult to say the least.. if this is not done, you will have redo it.

GavinDubai Start from front and work your way back, be careful not to put too much tension over the windshield section- you will tear the seams.. I found that out the hard way, lovely seeing we are now entering the rainy season.

NAVYCHIEF actually, there is a video out there somewhere. someone will come along and tell you where to find it.

hannahuffster It honestly is something that has to be learned by oneself. I dont think there is actually a "set way" to put one on. You have to get out there and wrestle the thing around the front yard for a couple hours the first time, and learn from failure. Dont worry though, it get easier each time and soon it will be a 5 min. job! A good tip though is how you store it is how easy it will be to put on time after time. If you fold it - it will be a PITA to but on. Start at the windshield and work backwards. Also the warmer it is outside generally the easier they are to get on...
