New From Saudi Arabia

Hey there,

I just moved to Riyadh and bought a new Jeep Wrangler Sport in September. This is my second Jeep. I had a CD-7 back in 1985/86 and rolled it during an ice storm on I-95 in Mass as I was making my way back to my Coast Guard Cutter in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I've been wanting to get one again for years and finally picked up the Sport at a local dealership soon after I arrived here in the late summer. It is proving well worth the purchase on the often terrible urban roads and traffic snarles in Riyadh and the surrounding areas. The driving here is among the worst I've ever encountered (and I've lived overseas for two decades). Most people don't wear seatbelts, kids hang out car windows, people speed in and out of traffic while yakking on cell phones, trucks are unsafe and uninspected, and it seems nobody knows what a turn indicator is for. When the roads are blocked due to one of the many accidents that happen each day, well no problem, the Jeep just goes around just about anything. Anyway...happy to have a Jeep again though not happy that I already had to have my "Tire Low" sensor replaced. The Sport is a rather basic vehicle, but perfect for my needs.
