There are lots of options for the 16.5. Many people aren't as educated about them and only give off information they've read about online. Go to someone who has the knowledge.

Ok! I hear ya. I will give it up but, you dont have to call me a faget aboutit.
However, they do make 33's for the 16.5 wheels.

If you can get 16.5" wheels built to your 5x5 stud pattern and use 5.13 gears-you're still not gonna have enough engine to runem-
Your mileage will probably be 9/10 mpg and tires will be over $300 ea and I doubt thay mfg a 33" tire for 16.5" (TRUCK) wheels--just

Yes they are military.
He can build the wheels to any bolt pattern but they are all 16.5's.
He has a friend that currently holds the military supply contract.
Would the wheels by themselves be worth buying?
Would the steel wheels with 33"s be ok? As far as gearing?
The bead lock wheels are really cool looking but, are they more trouble than they are worth? I read an article, dated in 2007, on 16.5" tires that predicted 16.5 tires are going away. I searched and did not find an abundance of choices but, the choices that were available, I could live with. The prices are not bad either.

|4Jeepn||Not sure if its still the case, but the 16.5 size has issues staying on the bead at lower psi. Not to mention, as stated above to you to have upgrades to the Jeep to run that big.|

|Heavy D||Those are used military tires and wheels from a HMMWV I'm sure. They are the only ones that use that size. That is a really good deal for them though and the tires get changed out with a lot of tread on them still so I'm sure you can get a lot of mileage out of them. As far as your gears, that will probably be a bit underpowered for 37"s and you may run into some axle probs depending on how hard you wheel.|

|InfernoGirl||I see lots of red flags here.... 16.5 is not a common size so finding new tires will be a pain... Do you have the lift to accommodate 37's? You'll need to regear and upgrade lots of parts to handle 37's, probably steering and brakes at the least... There's probably a reason the guy who has them is selling them, and I'm gonna guess that it's related to all of the above things...|

Deal on 16.5 wheels and tires
I have been trying to decide on new wheels and tires for my 2010 Sahara.
I found an add in the local craigslist for 16.5 " bead lock wheels and 37x12.50x16.5 Goodyear MTR (Kevlar) tires. 4 wheels and 4 tires for 800 bucks. The tires are considered used but, from what I saw most are brand new.
I would love to run these on my jeep but, the wheels are steel and the tires are 37's
Would my stock 3.73 gears hold up to these tires and wheels?
What are your thoughts on this setup?
