Cruise control problem

Someone please help. I bought a 2000 Wrangler Sahara with a manual transmission and the cruise control wont work. When I try to engage it I cant even get the light to come on. The AC and heater works perfect through all the vents and my cigarette lighter works too. I did notice that the air bag light is on so I took the steering wheel face off to check it. All the wires were plugged in and the same for the cruise buttons except one main center wire that branched off to two for the center of the airbag. Oh and the horn works if that matters. I dont care about the airbag but the cruise would make this Jeep perfect! Please, any help will be appreciated
