khenderson has he done any research on any of this? there is a plethera of info among the jeep forums that'll say what we have said. seems like hundreds of jeepers that have been through it all before might know what they're talking about.

Homerjay4242 Now I am no expert on this, but from what I have read I would not go above a 1" BL. If you are looking to get more lift with less, then you can go with a 2" Budget Boost and a 1" BL. This should run you between 250ish-500 for the BB and another 120 or so for the BL. You should also go with a 1" Basic Motor Mount Lift (BMML).

1BLKJP All the reasoning that Kyle stated above plus the fact that you are maxing out your steering shaft by doing a body lift that large. I personally think you will find more differences in the driving habits of your rig with that big a BL than a suspension lift. Try to talk your dad into a 3" suspension lift.

bluetj99 body lifts over 1" also look really weird b/c there is a huge space between the body and the frame. save up and go suspension man. its worth it in the long run. ive seen a guy with a wagoneer with a 3" body lift who hit a good sized tree limb goin down a trail, lets just say the body stopped and the wheels and frame kept goin

What he^^^^ said. I wouldn't go over 1" with a body lift. I have seen bodies shift over several inches. (We had to get a trailer to the Jeep to get it off the trail because he couldn't shift or steer, good times! )

lift kit Vs. Body lift?

Hello,
I was planning on putting a 3" lift kit into my 1997 wrangler, but my dad went and bought a 3" body lift instead, saying it's easier on the univeral joints...can someone please tell me what the difference between the two is and if it will look ok? I ordered 32" mud terrain tires from BFGoodrich to go with it...ok or no? thanks for the help
