The one with a 4" lift is just a body lift, which I didn't notice until a co-worker pointed it out; no suspension lift. I'm thinking I want little or no body lift, and about 3-4" suspension lift with 33" tires.
Was going to post a question in another part of the forum asking if people switch out their tires a lot, since this will be the vehicle I go to work in, and play in the mud in.
I might be changing out a set of wheels every couple weeks when I go out on trails.
Been learning a lot these past few weeks, still got a lot more to learn though.

Where-abouts in Upstate NY? There aren't a lot of off-road trails in NY due to the insurance companies managing to make accidents, etc., the responsibility of the land-owner. However, there's always the potholes in Batavia (or the snow and ice on the roads in the winter)

I'm looking for 6 cyl. 4.0 liter TJ. If it has some work done already, that's a plus, if not, I'll be doing a lot of work on my own over the years.
So far (if they don't get sold by the time I can afford them) I am looking at:
1) '98 6cyl 4.0L | 31" tires | no lift | 145,000miles | $5,000
2) '02 6cyl 4.0L | 33" winter force snow tires | 4" lift | 144,000 miles but a new motor with 60,000miles | $6,000
3) '02 6cyl 4.0L | 33" tires | 3" lift | 106,000miles | $5,800
The '98 says it's been stored in a garage and well taken care of, but I guess anyone can say that. Going to take a look at them in a couple weeks if they're all available still. Can't wait!

From Upstate, buying a Jeep soon! Newb ;)
Well, we've had one vehicle for years now. My wife got her degree and just got a job offer so we were in the market for a 2nd vehicle.
We've both always wanted a Wrangler, so now I'm finally getting one!
I'm looking at two different TJ's so far. A '99 and an '02.
Gotta wait until tax returns come (mid-Feb.).
She has always wanted one for the looks, I've always wanted one for the fun (and looks ).
I'm sure I'll be posting a lot of newb questions (especially with modifications), but once I get to know my stuff, I'll help out future-newbs if I can answer any of their questions.
