|lownslowVW||hey just checked it out, it ran well, the body was clean but there was rust on the undercarriage and on the joints. i'm going to go through with the trade and clean up some of the rust and i'll replace the shocks, maybe do a little lift while i'm at it and get some bigger tires since it only has 15 inch steelies we'll see.|

|BladeRunner||@ lownslowVW I have a 1999 TJ se too. That is a very good price. Now the only thing about the 2.5 lt is POWER. Stock tires will be fine, but the bigger tires you put on the Jeep the less power you will have. I have had 2 cj-5's and my little TJ has been my favorite. Good luck with the trade, and enjoy the Jeep.|

thanks guys i'm meeting him tomorrow morning to possibly trade him my 2000 vw golf 5 speed for it. i've always wanted a jeep and i'm a fan of tj's so hopefully everything checks out ok.he says he doesnt use it for offroading and it's bone stock besides that soft top so i'll check around for rust. my friend who has a tj said to check the drivers/passengers floorboards and also where the windshield meets the dashboard for rust. i'll certainly poke around the under carriage.

It'd be gone for that price around here.
Just check for rust really good. He may have undercoated it to hide any rust. Poke around with a screwdriver and maybe scrape some of the undercoating away.
