Dwoodworker I bought the 13" stubby but lost reception and 1 station my wife listened to plus it had a curve in it after driving on freeway it would straighten to some degree. I cut the factory antenna down and use it got her station back .

knucklepuck Thanks al!! I was concerned about the vendor-war thing when I posted. Sorry about that but am curious about the RedRock brand. It sure seems that both these supporting companies are excellent.

Although I have not used AntennaX yet they are getting high grades here on the forum. I can personally vouch for the excellence of Extreme Terrain (XT) having received top-notch quality products and tremendous customer service.

Thanks again!

Can I ask this here? Is that OK?
We aren't going to go back and fourth with another supporting vendor. What I will say is that we pride ourselves on our customer service and all of our customers leave happy.

You guys know that I'm always here to answer any questions you may have or just to talk Jeeps! Let me know if I can do anything for you.

BostonStrong77 AntennaX is great. Swapped mine out last week and have absolutely no issues and have had several Jeepers ask what brand and where to get it.

ours is $16.99 and includes free shipping, why pay $19.99 plus shipping for a knock of our Off-Road 13" antenna we have been selling since 2001

Mframos95 I ordered mine two days ago from BILLETstyling ... Hopefully it works well

I will not criticize you for purchasing from wherever you want but in this one case I will say antennaX has the best customer service bar none.

Antenna_X I think they make most of their money from the prepaid subscriptions on new cars, which ultimately we pay for when we buy a new car

All I do is cancel the card that they bill on, it just turns off and then they send me emails to sign up for super discounts.

Cancel the card and repeat.

Don't have to call them then.

Did it 2 times so far, I have had 1.5 years of service for about $29!

I didn't have static like in your video, but 35 miles east of NYC and my reception isn't as good as with the stock antenna....in fact, I put the stock antenna back on.

JCAB I ordered the 13" antenna x and have had a great experience so far. No change in reception and it looks much better than the stock antenna

CharlesS While the length of the antenna can get in the way on occasion; I have learned to deal with it. The shorter antennas that I tried lost reception in the desert areas where the stock one did not.
As for the visual thing.... I cleaned and scuffed the antenna with scotchbrite and then dusted the antenna with a couple coats of black satin paint. The paint has not been affected by the weather or tree branches on the trail.

b0w5er Just decided to cut mine at 14" and plasti dip it black. Looks great. So far, no difference noticed.
06-04-2014 01:55 PM
Ericatomars I'm either going to get a 13" shorty or just plasti-dip my stock antenna. I live in chicago and I doubt I will have any lack of reception but if I drive out then i might encounter a problem but I still have a more then a half a year left of the free satellite subscription and if that fails i have the bluetooth to play music off my phone.

My radio reception has also degraded since I installed mine. I've removed/rechecked installation. There isn't much to it, so I can't imagine I've installed it incorrectly.

If you just listen to Sirius and don't use AM or FM then you don't need an antenna at all. The satelite antenna is up in the roll bar.
