kbfunTH There's no question they made a few minor mistakes and that they don't use the highest quality material, but if they honor the work for the five year guarantee they gave me, then I think the price was good. There are no bad spots anywhere in this paint job.

s3nt3nc3d From what I've been told...Maaco does a decent paint job if you do all the prep work yourself. Otherwise, as has been're gonna have overspray everywhere and other problems. Of course it's not going to be as high of quality as a company that uses better paints...but you can get a decent paintjob for the money.

kjeeper10 Lucky it's a jeep, it's a box and any over spray is just gonna hit plastic or glass and can be cleaned up later : )

kbfunTH I was worried about overspray too, but luckily they got that part right. I went and checked the sanding and masking before the spray so I felt ok with them doing the paint. They did hit the bumper twice and took a little paint off that, but I wasn't worried about that since I did that part myself.

Getting what you pay for is definitely the case here, which is why I will pick someone more professional when I'm ready to dump the cash required for that.

YJPunisher213 Do the prep work yourself! and the masking. Otherwise you will have over spray on your windows, tires, you name it. You get what you pay for.

Work4Mud Even for $500, that doesn't give them an excuse to half-ass the work.

Feedback on using maaco to do your paint job.

I started out a few months ago with the intent on doing my own paint job. A noble idea for sure, but not a practical one for me. I did start sanding and did a good portion over about a months period. I finally decided that I wanted it painted sooner than later and went ahead and drooped it off at a local Maaco shop. For 500 bucks, it was totally worth it to me. It's guaranteed for 4 years and the paint job looks nice. It's not perfect and they could use a lesson in 'attention to detail,' but still happy with the end result. My only real gripe is when I picked it up, they were going to let me drive off without putting the stuff they took off, back on (license plate, windshield wipers, antenna, turn signal covers and hood latches). I had to go back in and request it be done. Someone had to stay past closing time and take care of the problem, but I did get a couple beers out of it while I waited.

Don't have after pics yet, but i will.
