I believe that's the Rampage recovery bumper... Rampage Products 86510 - Rampage Products Front Recovery Bumper for 07-11 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

offshoretek Yea I got the same bumper and I also needed a shoe horn to make my Warn powerplant 9500 fit. I also had to modify the angle of my overider a bit so that it would clear the compressor section. Love it though. Just bought the XHD rear bumper and tire carrier as well. Great pruducts for the price.

Now I just need to switch to that cool synthetic rope. I have it on my four wheeler and its the best hands down.

bdizz Looks like a Rugged Ridge XHD. I just bought the same one.

thewasel No problems so far, I've used it a couple times in freezing cold weather.

thefrog Hey so how is that synthetic line when it gets wet and freezes? Does it trap water or does it drain out of the fibers? Just wondering how it works in freezing cold weather.
03-13-2011 08:47 PM
thewasel Looks pretty sweet, I've used mine a couple times now to help folks that have slid off the winter roads and it works great! That winch will officially yank a Chevy Avalanche out of the ditch! (and it feels oh so good doing it, haha)

thefrog This thread is pretty old but I just finished the same installation yesterday! Same exact winch and bumper except I got the stinger for mine. I also used my angle grinder and did the same exact trimming as you including grinding down the heads of the bolts behind the fairlead (ground down the ones that came with it though instead of buying new ones). Oh, and it wasn't freezing cold out! Hard core for sure.

Rogerg Those fenders could use some trimming...nice choice of winch and the synthetic line is the way to go.

Sierra8 BTW that bumper looks like it belongs on a small tank

Sierra8 I moved from Northern OH to Central TX 6 years ago. I don't miss those cold installs whatsoever I kinda feel like I"m cheating nowadays. Things don't seize up, snap or rust on anything less than 10 years old. Even exhaust comes out without heat.

Just thought I'd put this out there

Like that winch. I haven't had to use mine too much this year but it's nice to know that as long as there's a tree or a big rock nearby you're pretty much your own tow truck. Pretty sure AAA isn't gonna come into the woods to get me

I wanted something comfortable and warm to lie down on while working on the Jeep...

It did help me not loose nuts and bolts in the snow.

...and no phottomatt...no wires cut THIS time...there's always the next upgrade!
01-29-2011 11:47 AM
phottomatt Looks awesome, and you didn't cut any wires by accident this time?

Scooter_Trash Looks great. I did the same thing today. Nothing like trying to thread bolts in tight places when you can't feel your fingers.
01-25-2011 10:23 PM
MVines Is that a epi9.0s? I have been looking at them on amazon, they were on sale. Looks like a crazy tight fit, but looks awesome! I got the same bumper too...
01-25-2011 10:13 PM
iamagolfspaz Looks great! Ive found it easier to take the bumper off for the install then get a friend to help lift into place.

seadog Dude, your dedication knows no bounds. I would have waited until Spring.

Nice install. Looks good.

thewasel I haven't focused on it too close to see any sag in the front, but I'm sure it has to have dropped the front at least as tiny bit. Maybe it's up there with the 'placebo effect' but I felt like I could 'feel' that extra weight swinging around on the front end after the install.

As far as the cold installs go, this one was like twice as nice as the bumper, haha...It was like 29 degrees. That bumper install was a little rough but dang it all I was DETERMINED to get that sweeet new bumper on!

Once the winch showed up as well at first I was like...I'll just open the box, I want to look at it...then it was...well I got it out I want to make sure the bolt holes line up with the bumper...then it was well hell, I'll just install it! I got done with it around 11pm last night save for having the trouble mounting the fairlead. I fixed that up this afternoon.

Mike_3303 Doing upgrades in the cold is never fun, shows you what determination can accomplish!
01-25-2011 08:49 PM
MTH Your cold installs give me the shivers! Your bumper post was painful--I admire your fortitude.

Looks great though. Any sag?
