Ibuildembig I guess I needed to be more clear. It's a arm for a 4 inch lift kit, not a 4 inch drop. You can also use a 79 f150 drop arm too, but the draglink will have to be upgraded

Rosebud83 Hey big, where did u get ur drop pitman arm, the ones I have found were only like 3.5 inch drop and I thought u said urs was 4 inches. I have also seen the extreme drop pitman arm I think it is for the xj tho. Do u know if that would fit the yj?

got a few questions about the wishbone. is there a certain length on the wish bone. What was the length of the pipe you used? anything else you could tell on building it would be great!!

JMO69 Thanks. Seems pretty straightforward. I am eventually going to do this. So I'm picturing this... get every thing on jackstands kinda in place. then removing my bigass 10" shackles. Then putting the springs on the top of the axle with stock shackles ( flipping the Ubolts that go around the axle), and every thing should not be too far off from where it is now. Maybe a drop pitman,( but I think mine might already be.) Does this sound right, or is it not that easy?

devilrmk Its gonna give you about 5" of lift. So 2+more suspension lift than you have now. It will ride 100% better and look 100% better. I had no problems with driveshafts going from the same. Steering should be fine with just a dropped pitman arm.

JMO69 OK, here's a question. I've got a big ol' shackle lift and a 1" body lift giving me about 4"lift overall.(33 in tires) A bit of bumpsteer though, and of course VAMPIRE TEETH. It's all good, but I was wondering, since all my steering, driveshafts and such are operating well with this lift... if I eliminated the big shackles and went with stocks, and went SOA instead, do you think there would have to be any major modifications to the shafts, steering, axles etc.? I was wondering if this would give me the same aprox. lift without bumpsteer and not much modifying axles and brakes and such.

Bigwheelers1 great work big! I get the impression we are on the same page as far as our work I've got one question, I did my SOA last weekend, And I have a violent vibration that im certain is being caused from the rear driveline angle, I have the pinion kicked up a bit but i think the problem is up at the top..should i drop the skid down an inch or so?

Lt. Ray T. Well, I done gone and dunn it!. Did my SOA today and look back and wonder, why did I ever buy a RC 4" lift in the first place. Drives better, rides better, I will be needing to do my anti wrap bar soon, but will fab that up myself with some guidance from this place. I like the wishbone you used in here, but think I will go with more of a ladder style. Anyway, thanks for this writeup, it helped a bunch!...

Ibuildembig You can use an extreme drop pitman arm ford a Ford superduty (I think they are the same spline) and if thats not enough your gonna have to swap out your knuckle for one that is flat enough to put an arm on.

Help me, Obi Wan!

Hey Big,
I saw this build thread when debating SOA vs SUA for my build and you convinced me to go SOA. I bought everything in your parts list to prepare for the build. I eventually located full widths to swap in (J10 44 and 20). I just put em in this weekend.

For the most part it all went well, it looks great! I just have one problem that I was hoping to pick your brain on...

I can't connect the steering. The drag link hits the passenger spring on right turns. Unfortunately my 44 isn't the flat top variety. What are some options for crossover or high steer?

Sorry if this was covered, i read all 21 pages once. Didn't want to do it again.

Ibuildembig I've only done that to one rig in my life and it had 20 inches of lift. 99 percent of the time on a jeep it will never be needed.

Razzer Hey, Big! In this whole 21 pages I didn't see anything about custard turn on the front. Not that this set up needs it, but do you have thoughts on the process? I've had Ty's and hate steering issues. Trying to get it right the first time. Thx
