GoldenSahara00 Haha definitely. I do get the whole shaking/ wobble but I still have steering...

I will not take the stabilizer off! LOL thats asking for it.

Phil05LJ True death wobble means the steering wheel shakes out of your hands, the dash sounds like it's gonna come apart, fillings are rattled out of your teeth and stomping on the brakes doesn't make it stop, just slowly brings the Jeep to a stop plus you cant steer it and it takes FOREVER! I ended up in a ditch but luckily it didn't roll over. It truly earns it's name. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

GoldenSahara00 Haha its cool^ I know I agree, but I dont want to go get aligned before I put my 33s and do everything ya know?

I have unevenly worn tires that I got from a guy, but they were cheap 31s. They also are not balanced. as I said, I need a steering stabilizer.

Phil05LJ Keep in mind that a heavy duty stabilizer only masks a problem with the front end. Trust me, don't take off the stabilizer to try and diagnose the problem... I thought I was gonna die when I did that with my ZJ! You will lose all control and it is extremely violent, they don't call it "death wobble" for nothing!

Phil05LJ Hold everything! I just read that you have death wobble already, I didn't see that earlier, sorry. You must have something going on either with your alignment as is, tires, front track bar, tie rod ends... The list goes on. I hate to say it but you should look over the Death Wobble stickey on here and correct the problem before you lift it. Lifting a Jeep that already has a wobble problem will most likely amplify it 10 times worse than it is. Drive safely friend!

GoldenSahara00 mine has 12000 so I will probably replace anyways its just a matter of NECESSITY for the lift, haha. i have death wobble that I know is from serveral causes. so im gona get everything else sorted out first then look to that. thats for the suggestions on brands Ill look into them I eventually want to get the 1in BL as well. your stances both look good guys! im excited for this

whitejeep I have a 3in suspension and 1in body. I used the trans case drop on mine. Also I had the death wobble after the lift. I started by replacing the steering stabilizer. They're not very expensive(mine cost $35-ProComp) and when you see your OE stabilizer compared to the aftermarket one. Big difference in size and weight. Plus my Jeep had 110,000 miles on it, so that could of been the original stabilizer that rolled off the assembly line in 2004.

Phil05LJ Glad to help! The OME stabilizer is just a suggestion, there are many others that are cheaper but also work very well, you may not even need to replace the stock one. I forgot to mention that i have no experience with motor mount lifts so i cant help you there. Best of luck with your build! Chime back in if you have any other questions.

I will probably save up and then purchase the stabilizer if needed, after I do the alignment. thanks for the assurance on the spacers too.

Phil05LJ I had a 98 TJ w/3" and never had a problem with driveline issues and I never had any cam bolts, alignment was always ok. Sure you loose ground clearance with the T-case drop but I didn't mind dragging the belly over dirt mounds. I would think twice if your going rock crawling. My LJ has a 2.5 OME heavy duty kit with 3/4" spacer in the front to compensate for the ARB. I still haven't had it aligned after 6 months(although I should) and have no problems, tire wear is even. My driveshafts are long enough so a SYE or case drop is not necessary. You don't need to worry about an SYE for the height of the front if you add the spacer, the front driveshaft is long enough so that the angle won't make a difference at 3". You may not need the spacers if the new front springs are rated for extra weight such as a 4.0 with a heavy bumper or winch but you likely will. I installed my lift and a week later ordered the spacers after the front end sagging drove me nuts! Lastly I would recommend a steering stabilizer upgrade if your running 33's. OME is pricey but good, that's what I have and that may be why I haven't felt the need for an alignment. BTW, I'm not an oldjeepfart, just a jeepfart.

You sir, are a saint. Thank you for the response and personal experience. Yes true but the Tcase mount is, to say the least very small. I will/would do the sye with enough money, but will save it for later and do the tcase for now.

Anyone know about the MML or any of my other questions is welcome to answer

TjTheo Yes a t case drop will avoid the need for a sye.
But the proper way is to use and sye, plus if you do the t case drop you'll have that much less clearance.
But hey i have a 3 inch lift with a t case drop and it drives fine.

And the death wobble i say just wait to see if it happens before you start worrying about it.

GoldenSahara00 Ive heard/seen that MML done but I never actually was told it was to prevent the need of SYE. Hmmm good thought I really wish one of those oldjeepfarts would pop in here. maybe one will get offended since I called them oldjeepfarts.

wranglernut My plan is to get a 3" lift, and then then a 1" motor mount lift. I'm hoping that will re-align the driveline angles... Still trying to confirm that it'll work, though!

A few final questions :)

So I'm finally set on gettin the Zone 3" Lift, after alot of wondering whether RC's quality was gona make me happy. Anyways, I have done alot ( and I mean alot ) of reading to make sure I have everything and know everything that I need to. I just have a few questions to sort out.

First, it says It includes a "minimal T-case drop", to help keep pinion angles correct, I believe. This is to avoid vibrations and such, and eliminate the need for a SYE. Correct? I have read a few places to either skip it and do nothing, or still go straight to the SYE so I have it later on. I don't havce the money for it right now, so what should I do. Install the T case drop as instructed?

Next, I have .75 spacers on my front to level, so leaving those on with the 3 inch lift would likely cause even more problems and make the need for an SYE even more likely, correct?

They mention something about cam bolts if your jeep didnt come with them, and I have no idea about this one?

finally, I already have "death wobble" at anywhere from 60-80 mph, so Im hopping to get aligned and everything once I get my 33s after this lift. Whats the likely hood that I will need to get steering stabilizer or other things to help with vibrations, other than SYE?



Im not looking for easy information, I just want to make sure I get everything picture perfect the first time through. Thanks to any and all responses!
