|JPWheelin||Thanks all! Solid advice. I think I will wait until a ride around with the top off for a while and try a bikini top for starters.|

|Grog||I agree with Geoff. Get a bikini top and see what you like.|

|InfernoGirl||Factory tops are easy to install/raise/lower..... The initial assembly isn't so easy, but once you get it put together it's cake. Nicest thing about them is you have them when you need them....|

I'd recommend that this summer, you take your hard top off and run around topless for a bit.
I'd also recommend a Bikini® top - lots cheaper, and nice to own even if you have a full soft top and a hard top. To me, that's the absolute classic, peak-of-the-world Jeep experience.
That might be enough right there. I do this on my CJ: hardtop in winter, Bikini in summer.
Then, if you decide you still want to go with a soft top, there are tons of options from my company and others. No rush on that.

|Jkw||I have a 2010 four door hard top it is a pain to take it off till you get the hang of it however if you get a hoist it will be a piece of cake your right about the rain thats the biggest delimma but oh well check the weather before you take it off and then enjoy and no long road trips without the top|

Noob 2010 unlimited owner- do I need a soft top?
I am a noob all around . New to the forum, and I just purchased my first jeep- 2010 Wrangler Unlimited. This is just the first of my many silly questions.
My Jeep came with the hard top only. I think I am going to go for a hoist system in my garage. I would like to get some opinions on whether or not I need a soft top in addition to the hard top. I realize the main disadvantages of the hard top only is it is a pain to get on and off, and if you get stuck in the rain with the "back half" at home you are SOL. However, I wonder how many people out there with both tops find themselves using the hard top with the front panels removed most of the time.
For pro-soft-toppers, what softies do you recommend? I checked out the Mopar Sunrider. That one is a little pricey and it looks like it is kind of a pain to install. Also looked at the Trektop. I like that, but it seems like it might be hard to see out of.
Thanks for you input!
