I just posted in another topic along the same lines. Have a 98 Sahara, 4.0L, 31's and just want a solid 2" lift. When I say solid, I just mean good quality, reliable and something that does NOT require all sorts of other parts later b/c of follow-up problems due to the lift.
Whats the general consensus when it comes to 2" lifts? Should I be ready for vibrations, and other issues that would have to be addressed?

Rubicon Express and OME both make great products and I don't think you could go wrong going with either one.
The RE bushing problem is and has been fixed although there are always people who will argue..
2in OME will feel better than stock because the springs and shocks are soooo much better than factory and will net you, well, 2 inches of lift with no driveline mods.
The RE 3.5 will ride better than stock also because of the upgraded shocks and springs but be aware that a Rubicon Express 3.5 system will net you closer to 4inches of lift and it is very possible you will want to replace the drive shaft and get a slipyoke eliminator.
Sounds like the lower lift would better suit your needs right now.
You can always upgrade later... I think we have all done it, ha,ha! Good luck with your build!

|Redneck07||Lol I have the RE 5.5 and wanna upgrade to the RE 7.5 cuz I need new shocks and I'm gonna replace the springs also but I'm not sure what all i'll need to replace to do so|

|Mike5087||OK so I've done some reading and done some thinking, and I might just go with the 2'' OME. I'm not sure if I want to go very big right away. (I think very big like 4") laughable I know, but for a first time putting on a lift I think the 2" will be a good start for now. Maybe even a 1" body lift or something just bc I want to run 32's. Anyways with that being said, I'm still not ruling out the possibility of a 3" lift or 3.5". The deciding factor will ultimately be how much extra work and adjustments will have to be made with a 3" or 3.5" lift. I'm not sure I want to toy around that much just yet. Especially with my Jeep being my primary means of transportation. I just don't want to make my commute a pain bc I wanted to go bigger.|

I've got the RE 3.5" standard lift, with OME shocks. On the street it handles like stock, and on the trails it handles a little rough, but not too bad. Since my kit is the standard, not the superflex, it didn't come with the drive shaft or sye, just a transfer case drop. I don't have a single vibration out of it.
I also went through 4x4groupbuy, and they can get you the shocks for much cheaper than anywhere else that I've found.

|willysmb||I had the 2" OME kit on my Jeep for 7 years,rode nice,didnt think it gave enough lift,was good for 31" tires.I now have a RE4.5" superflex,and a 1.25 JKS body lift,running 35,s with tons of fender clearance.The RE lift rides stiffer,less body movement when going over bumps.And as others have said,RE lifts are HUGE!,and easy inch or better over advertised height.|

I don't think you can go wrong with the RE. I put the 3.5"RE-SF on this summer and really like it. Now just so you know that RE 3.5" runs more like 4" to 4.5" of lift, so account for all of the other issues that come with that big of lift.
My understanding is that RE fixed their issue with the control arms too.

I have a RE 3.5 super flex and love it!!! Check out 4x4groupbuy.com they have combos including a see and cv driveshaft!
Anyway I highly recommend RE

|Phil05LJ||I have a 2.5" OME kit on my LJ and it works great. It is $$$ but shocks are included. I don't think any RE kits come with shocks. I also have a 95 ZJ with a RE 3.5" kit that has been on there for 8+ years and it has not settled or sagged and has always rode and drove like stock and I have a lot of weight added to it...ARB bumper with a winch ( that's darn near 200 lbs hanging off the front) V8, lots of gear in the back... I'm building a 99 TJ and I'm pretty sure I'll go with RE when the time comes. My 2 cents... I don't think you can wrong with either brand but I would lean more towards RE.|

Rubicon express lift kits
Was wondering what people thought of the Rubicon Express lift kits? I am undecided between the ome 2" and the rubicon exp 3.5. I was set on the 2" but the more I see pictures off jeeps with a 3" lift it makes me second guess the 2". So basically what I'm asking is how's the on/off road performance of the rubi exp. Kit. Ive heard good things about the ome so I just want to get as many opinions on different lifts as I can. Trying to get it somewhat right on the first gomaround!
