AMEN BROTHER! I removed the drop pitman arm that came with my kit, installed the original and re-corrected the toe-in on my TJ. Unbelievable the difference it made in bump steer. Thanks for the heads up!

matt4133 Sorry to bring up an old post, so jerry what your saying is; you can install a 4" lift without using the dropped pitman arm included in the kit, and it would be more benefical than actually using the new pitman arm?

Jerry Bransford I only have time for a single comment, but one that is important... no matter which kit you buy, do not install the dropped Pitman arm included with both of those kits. Neither of the kits include a dropped upper track bar mount which is required for a dropped Pitman arm to work without causing bump steer.

There easy to adjust but you may have to drop ur skid plate to see it, just make sure to put a jack under the engine, the skid plate is also ur tranny mount..

rockhard98 Gonna recomed this only because it was I did. And i love it, on road and off road..
Skyjacker 6inch long arm rockready kit. Bad part is its a 2800 dollar lift.
Comes with everything u need, comes with a tranny drop which is a new sub frame also OS part of the lift, it where ur new arms will bolt up, also fixes ur pinon angles in one shot.
However a cv stile rear drive line and a slip yok eliminater kit is required.. this lift is rated at mild to exstream and is a rock crawling lift,
I drive my jeep every day and can't say enuff good stuff about it, handles great even on the pavement, and off road there ain't many places I can't go... it is kinda a pain to install and I did it my self. more time consuming then anything but it is all bolt on..

U may not wanna go this extream but once its done there's not much u can't do..
Learned a pong time ago , go big the first time because in the end your gonna want more..

Good luck on ur journey its a hard choice to make on how u want to set things up.

Just my two cents have heard peeps on other forums say stay away from zone lifts. However I have no Exp with them and know no one that does, in fact this site is the first I have ever heard of them...and I was raised working on and building 4x4's. Gotta say stick to the ones that r knowN, there known for a reason.

AOR The SYE kit is for the NP231 t/case. The NP231 has a slip yoke, which under more flex situations will allow the driveshaft to pop out. The NP241 (Rubicon t/case) has one from the factory and has a flange to bolt the driveshaft too. I would do the SYE kit and CV shaft, just to have vibration free driving and no issues with popping out under flex. Along with a cam plate kit (included) for the rear to adjust the pinion angle to insure no vibration and the ability to fine tune it.

I believe what ej_fireman is talking about is the t/case shifter linkage. Adjusting that so as to not have any binding during engagement of low range. The SYE and CV shaft will eliminate the need for the t/c drop. This link will help you to locate the tag.

Hammerwalk how do i verify my transfer case type for the SYE? Im seeing some state "with NP231 TC only" and others not saying anything.

That looks like a pretty sweet deal there. I will check into it further.Thanks for the info. However, just one last question...

"A minimal transfer case drop is supplied to correct the driveline angle while maintaining as much ground clearance as possible."

Do you recommend installing SYE as well? Not trying to beat a dead horse here. I just see way to many conflicting opinions / facts on this subject. I have no problem getting one, but if i don't have to, then why would i spend the extra ~$400+ or so for the SYE, and new drive shafts

ej_fireman Go to streetsideauto.com I found the pallat skyjacker 4"lift for 460$ total free shipping I luv it .. It's the exact same 1 as the economy lift yet way cheaper

AOR Why not do this one? Zone Offroad 4" kit. Shipped for $756.44 with JKS2001 quicker disconnects, drop pitman arm, and Nitro shocks. Good luck on your decision and your build. What ever you get, I hope you enjoy your new stance and offroad performance.

Skyjacker 4" Economy vs 4" Standard. Help?

I have been doing as much research as I can lately and reading as much as i can on the forum about lifts.

My goal... 4" lift to support 33s for my '02 Sahara. Will still be my daily driver, but with capabilities to have a great time off road at the OHV parks.

My dilemma... too damned many choices out there for a newb. Here is what i have boiled it down to so far.

What i dont get is the ~$600 price difference. I can see that the standard has quick discos and that the bump stops are not poly, but nothing else jumps out at me. Can someone explain why i would want to spend the extra cash? Home made quick discos can be done. But whats the deal with the "same hard material as rear bump stops"
