Johnny HotFoot I hate to read posts about how JK owners never wave, some might not, but many do!

I admit there are alot of JK's (and older Jeeps) near me that do not wave, they don't wave back either... it's gotten me so down that I don't initiate a wave to anyone anymore but I do look for a wave from all Jeeps and happily return those waves!

These guys buzzin around in Jeeps flipping people off have problems... seriously, to flip a stranger off for no apparent reason is sick, and in Detroit can be dangerous!!

Kennef06 His Jeep will never see anything but pavement, he would never get her dirty, and he just doesn't get it! I feel sorry for his jeep.

stabs05 I was passed, rather angrily, by an XJ a couple of years ago. It was on a 25 mph road coming out of a community park, he was right on my tail, there was a city lawnmower cutting the side grass up ahead, half in the road. I had to move over a little to avoid the lawn mower, just as the XJ was apparently trying to pass me so he can go double the speed limit, he got pissed and floored it passed me after we both passed the lawn mower. I pulled up behind him at the light that was 500 feet down the road.

SWR I don't think it had anything to do with the wave, and everything to do with the speed. Depending on the street around here, if I got 5mph over (which is what I almost always do) I still get tailgated and passed a lot. But like George Carlin said:

"Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?"

I will second that. I get 60-70% wave backs, but like you said, "I don't care...I HAVE A 4 DOOR RUBICON!!!!"

tuff2010 Waving is a jeep thing, you either do it or not, has nothing to do with what jeep you drive bro....

As for having other jeepers acting unbecoming a jeep owner, has'nt happend yet..Its mostly the people new to jeeping that dont wave, but just give them time and they will come around.

BLEGAN hah i wish i got flipped off out of jealousy. my jeep is bone stock :/

Cons_Table My friend drives an XJ and had a similar incident.

He works the graveyard shift and was leaving work around 2 am. Hes got a lifted white XJ with 35s, custom roof rack, lights, etc. Well he pulled up next to another white XJ at an intersection that was stock. My friend looked over at him, and the guy just looked back and gave him the finger...all they were doing was sitting at a stop light Apparently this guy was a little jealous.

We got to a long straightaway and he shifts over to the other lane to pass me (one lane passing zone) and as he is passing me, flips me off and starts screaming something i couldnt hear because both our windows were closed (dumby head).. for no reason what so ever. i was confused .. but you know what i did?

i waved

just my story of a jeeper who shouldnt be a jeeper.

anybody else get a lack of respect like this from another jeep? it was upsetting
It's obvious, he had to take a serious dump. He was probably hollering that he was prairie dogging ( that's when your turd keeps popping it's head out the hole). He was just showing you which finger he was going to have to shove up his bung hole to keep the prairie dog from escaping and soiling his pleated Dockers. He probably has irritable bowel syndrome from being labeled a soccer dad for driving a four door with those family stickers on the back window and a I brake for garage sales sticker on the bumper.

Maybe he was giving you the thumbs up and has an exceptionally long thumb.
or
Maybe he has had 4 fingers amputated on that hand and the only one left was the middle one.
or
Maybe he was telling you that you were #1
or
maybe he was pointing to the sky (as in "watch out for low flying aircraft)

GoldenSahara00 Yep anyways dont worry about it people are always gona be idiots for no good reason. I would like to see him get out of his car and flip you off Im a calm guy until someone gives me a reason not to be.
02-03-2011 03:56 PM
BLEGAN i could see that. as to the hummer thing, so funny. and i agree that the vast majority of us are chill. one of the many reasons i love this community
02-03-2011 03:54 PM
GoldenSahara00 You were driving fine, dont worry about that. Perhaps he though you flipped him off for following close if he couldnt see through your rear window? who knows. personally..

Its probably someone who wouldnt afford a Hummer. 99% of jeep drivers are laid back, amzingly awesome people, but theres always those other kind...

i was doing the speed limit. 50-54 is legal in a 55. 55-56 is not :P. and the roads are kinda crappy. slushy and whatnot still.

I either got ignored, a dirty look, or flipped off.. So letting them initiate first seemed like the right way to go.. I don't like getting flipped off by a fellow jeeper.. Makes me hurt a little inside
