TexasT If the clutch was slipping the rpm would increase when you give it gas, not stall. Have not experienced what you are describing but I have had clutch slip before and it doesn't sound like a clutch. How many miles on the jeep?

Clutch problems???

I have a '05 Wrangler 6-speed 4.0L. Sometimes when I am running in 3rd or 4th around 1500 rpms and I punch it, it seems to completely stall and the transmission light will come on until I let off the gas and press in the clutch to "start over". After that everything is back to normal and I can disengage the clutch and go on about my business. What could cause this? Is it the clutch slipping?

Also, after driving for an hour or so on the highway, when I sit in neutral there is a rattling sound. If I press the clutch in it goes away but is right back when I let it out again. Is this part of the problem above?
