Airing down in 4 low, you'll be surprised what it will do. I'm running mine stock until the duellers wear out. I've always run my jeeps stock for a while before mods. It will make you a better off road driver and you'll notice the effects of your mods more when you do them..rather than driving to an off road shop from the dealer lot and jacking it up right away.

I have a 2013 JKR. It's stock aside from a few inexpensive mods, like the grill mod. I've put on ACE rock rails, changed the shift knobs, and a few other interior things. Mostly cosmetic or for more functionality. Nothing to the suspension. It's my DD, I take it out about once a month on light trails. I avoid mud whenever possible. I have recovery and first aid gear (RN), as was mentioned above. I plan on a small lift and new shoes in the future, but am yet to get into a situation that 4L and lockers have not been able to get me out of. Knocking on wood.

Light and moderate trails.
More skid plates, which is next on the list.
Also, thinking about a set of Maxxtrax and a 4 ton come along.

Dishpan springs. It's rated as a difficult trail. The tj is stock at the time with the exception of 30 bfg. What did I wish I had lockers, winch and a jack. I already had a winch and a jack but just haven't installed them at that time. So where am I going with it 5.3 gm engine and 37" or higher if I can find axles at a good price if not maybe a ford 9" and 35" and super the dana 30. And I like e lockers.

For now, I'm Wheeling a stock JKUR. It surprises me every time I go wheeling.
The one mod I wish I had were skid plates. Banging the underside of a jeep sounds expensive and that's why I've ordered some! Here are some pictures of stock wheeling.

We had a lot of stock vehicles with us on a Jamboree a couple of years ago... here's a clip of a stock X doing the hardest hill of the route, to give you an idea of what you can do (apparently this year a new Cherokee Trailhawk did it as well).

|Cajun4x4||I have taken my 2014 JKURX through mud and rocks. Its an amazing vehicle. It has truly surpassed my expectations for a what a stock Jeep can do. Yeah I know its a Rubi and has all the bells and whistles, but any Jeep will out perform any stock 4 wheel drive. I've only added a which and some lights. Nothing else needed.|

I have a 13 JKU Moab, which I currently wheel stock. Recently, I put a Warn winch on the front bumper, and now I want better springs, so I will probably get a small lift and tires to get it back to stock and slightly better.
Most of my travels are on unmaintained roads, which occasionally end up in Kansas pastures and water crossings. I'm yet to be stuck, though I have struggled in some mud and snow. Here's a few pics of what where I've wheeled locally:

A good chunk of lifts and large tires are done strictly for looks.
I am really curious to see how the Duratracs in stock 32 inch sizes will change things.

Well, back in 1993, I went on the Rubicon with a Jeep that was close to stock, the only modifications were, I put tube bumpers from and rear, I also put tube side rails on, I installed Rancho shocks, and that was about it. I can't tell you how much fun we had, it was amazing, and it's amazing what a stock Jeep is capable of. Now, I will say, that I am pretty conservative, and I only got stuck once (because I didn't have lockers) but I stayed towards the middle or rear of the pack, and by the time I got to anything difficult, the guides had it pretty wired.
Now, I have a stock 2014 Rubicon, and I plan on running it for a while in it's stock configuration, mainly because I have no money to pour into it, yet. But I am looking forward to making several modifications to it, but I am pretty confident that it will take me anywhere I want to go, and then some.

I also have a compact shovel but I'd really like to get an external mount for a full size shovel.
I was also looking at the maxtrax. They seem like they'd be handy in mud, loose dirt and probably even snow.
