jp2611 I have door surrounds for my soft top-so this may not be exactly the same. I have the Bestop upper replacements and the glass sliders as well. As Inferno girl mentioned they can be bent/adjusted to "fit".

The Quadratec magazine used to have directions but I have been ordering on line so don't know if it is still in there. It used to be in the section under the "advisor" so that you pick the right top for your rig............... Basically you put the upper doors on and with the door open, brace your hip or leg against the lower and pull/bend the upper in the direction to allow the door to close easier.

After I fit my replacement upper doors (sliders and plastic) to the factory soft top I had to "readjust a little" when using wrap -around- jammer/bikini top, and again when I got my halftop. Hope this helps.

zimi117 Could I be because I have bestop uppers abd frames?
It may be custom cut to the top. I can still close my door I just have to give it a little slam

Jerry Bransford The upper doors fit both style tops, they were made so all combinations fit each other so something is wrong, bent, or not mounted correctly somewhere. I have had full doors, half doors, hard top, and soft top and all fit each other perfectly.

zimi117 There not bent because they fit fine with the soft top. They are just a little taller in the back rounded corner. Has anyone made stock uppers fit with a factry hardtop?

Jerry Bransford I've heard from a friend at Bestop that there is an adjustment somewhere but in all the TJ doors and windows I've seen and owned over the years, I've never seen anything that was adjustable. It's possible the steel window frame is bent so if it is, good luck since it's not easily bent back into position.

Adjusting upper doors to fit hardtop

Hello all,

I have recently purchased a hard top for my 98 TJ. Top sits perfect but when i closed me bestop doors from a supper top, the right corner of the door has to be slammed to shut and forces the piece to bend. I have contacted a jeep specialty shop and they say that the upper door inserts can be adjusted.
Has anyone done this? Pics if any?
I want to buy the upper door slider from bestop but am waiting to find a bargain. Are the upper door sliders know to have a problem??
