OregonPlinker My worst day in a jeep was similar to another story on here. Big puddle. Middle of July, 95 degrees out and we came across a spring fed mud hole that is a local legend for destroying rigs. It was the middle of summer so it was only 2.5-3 feet deep. My Nephew tried it and made it farther than I thought he would.

So, having better tires and a locker I figured I would give it a shot. I didnt know part of my air cleaner had disappeared and my intake ended up working like a shop vac sucking about 2 quarts of water into the engine. Also swamped the tranny and of course front and rear end...

I realized I had taken on water, shut it off and called my cousin to bring his tow bar and drag me home. So while waiting 3 hours for him to get there my nephew kept playing in the hole hitting it harder and harder against my advice and ended up getting water in his engine as well... Mine actually survived internally. But, Ive gradually lost every fricken sensor including the o2 which caused it to run lean and cracked my header and took out the head gasket at least maybe warped the head or block. My nephew ran the bearings out of his. I told him to shut it off and he could use my triple A to get it home. Oh no he didnt have that much water in his... Dumb ass...

barefootsouljo Amazing stories...glad for the "good" endings so far!

Sidenote: I was a vol emt/firefighter for 8 years in a small community. My first call ever was to a rollover accident involving a friend and a cousin. Once we were certain they were okay, I chewed them both new ones...

People always say how "unstable" and "not safe" Jeeps are and I look at pics like yours and mine and many others I have seen on here and think what if I had been in an average "car" Honda civic, Toyota camry, Ford focus, Chevy Malibu, Chrysler Sebring...IMO the results not the same......

Glad you guys doing okay.

Me and my girlfriend wanted to take a backroad on a nice day out, top off, doors off. Speed limit is 35 and im going 30. Im coming up on this turn and i didnt know it would be as sharp as it was so i decided to cruise around it....

I pressed my brakes harder than i should have and fish tailed. The Jeep hit a bank and flipped 3 times. My Girlfriend got out with a couple scratches and pulled a Boss move, threw me over her shoulders, unbuckled my seatbelt and pulled me out of the jeep. I got stitches in my wrist and staples in my head. I thank god for seatbelts!.

Why were you waiting to go to jail? DUI?

Fordfreak It's just easier to check for loose parts this way. Rausch creek off-road park, Pa.

jkaufman_95 ^ well there is your problem.
Never wrecked a jeep but I did wreck a 30 ton tour bus when I was 12. I might be able to dig up some pictures Also the fire thing from the OP. I would have been dead and this Is why I carry a fire extinguisher.
And firefighters don't get all the love I've wanted to be a cop since I was born.

Lumberjack Bought my 00 wrangler w/ 46,980 last month. After 42 miles, going 10mph on an icy hellish road and spokane ditches on the sides of back roads I ended up rolling it once. My luck.

Just got it back yesterday

We went out a few weeks later to one of my favorite spots to wheel and had a great time. At one point the trail we were on was blocked by a giant tree that had fallen over a few days ago from all the heavy rain in our area. When we got to it and stopped, I just looked over at her and smiled while turning the wheel really sharp and driving over 6 foot bushes. When we emerged on the other side of the tree my new JK was covered in flowers from the top of the trees and bushes I just destroyed.

The sad part of this story is that I found out right afterward that she was in a relationship already . I manned up and stepped back from that.
