RednekYJ No probelm...... I'm not sure if this will work but there is a good amount of play with the door hinges and striker that is on there now. You may be able to adjust them enough to get rid of the rattle untill you find new strikers.

Michael L. Thanks to everyone for the welcome and the info... anyone know if its possible to modify the cj doors to accept paddle style handles?

It has the twist handles and im pretty sure it just needs strikers cause i noticed they didn't quite shut as snug as they should. $100 sure sounds a lot better than $500 for the stock doors. thanks for the help

Geoff@Bestop CJ and YJ doors are basically the same. The rattling is most likely coming from the latch, but it could also be something just broken inside.

If you're up to fabbing your bumpers and sliders, I'm thinking you'll be able to solve this one really quick. If nothing else, it's just plain time to take your doors apart, clean everything, lubricate everything, and put it all back together better than before. You're up to 20+ years of that jeep getting bashed about.

Im looking into buying a 1990 yj but one of the major problems is that the doors rattle really bad. They guy said he has cj7 doors on it instead of the factory doors. Is the rattling caused by the mismatched doors or is there something else that could be the cause?
