Body Lift / Tire Questions

Hey guys I'm new to the Jeep world and would like a little bit of advice before I start adding parts to my shopping cart.

I'm looking to close a deal with a 94 Sahara and would like to give it a nice stance first off before I start the body work. I don't need an off road warrior, since this will be my DD however I will be using it to go down easy trails as well as take my boat to a few places that any normal car couldn't reach.

With that said, I would like to add a 3" body lift for starters. The Jeep does have 31" on it as of now. Does this lift show a noticeable difference and is it easy to install? Also I would assume the ride is similar to stock however I guess the question is is this basic setup a good starting point or should I be looking at suspension lifts.
- Thanks guys
