|rebelBullDawg325||maxxis seems to make good tires. several of my friends run them and love em|

|2much||This may not be what you want to hear, but my advice would be to save up and go ahead and fork it over for the bfg's. From experiance I will say that they are great performing tires on and off road, wear well, and you should get good mileage out of them.|

bfg mt's come in 33x10.50 but they are 172.50 a tire
super swamper makes a radial 33x10.50 at 154.89 a tire

|Redrubicon2004||What part of ILL are you in, I am good friends with a manager of a discount tire near me. I wheel with him often|
|07-19-2007 11:02 AM|
|2much||well you've stumped me on a good 10.50 tire. I know toyo has a 33" by 11.50, maybe consider some new rims with diff. backspacing to help you rubbing problems.|
|07-18-2007 11:59 PM|
I remember the 33" pro comps my friend had were about the size of a 32"...My bfg's (33's) were alot bigger than his.
Keep an eye on the actual overall diameter of the tires...Look for actual specs.

|HkdOnJP||15 but i would consider running 16|
|07-18-2007 11:33 PM|
|2much||are you running 15" or 16" rims??|
|07-18-2007 11:14 PM|
i really want a 10.50 though the 12.50 will rub really bad on my yj i have pro comp mts and i love them but they only come in a 33x12.50 i was gonna go with super swamper tsl radial i think but if i can find a mt in 10.50 that would be awesome
thanks for all the feedback keep'em comin

|2much||yeah, a friend of mine had thornbirds on his lifted f-250, he took them off after 2500 miles, the on road performance is awful, and its not like you make up for in off road capability, just go with a good mud terrain, ( Mickey Thompson, BFG ) as far as procomp, i test drove a jeep with 33" procomp m/t's and I didn't really like them, but thats just personal preference, they seemed like to hard a compound, and the guy who owned the jeep said they only had 17,000 miles on them, and the tread wear was not what I would consider acceptable for 17,000. miles.|

Whoa where did that come from, did they redesign the thornturd?
I would never buy thornturds, Very very loud, and they wear very uneven.
I am running BFG's here in Illinois and I am very happy with them. Had a friend that had new procomp mt's and I was going every where without spinning in the mud, he had to keep a steady wheel spin to keep moving.

|kg4kpg||I can tell you this also, it doesn't have to be a BFG, Toyo, ProComp or other big name tire to be good on or off the road. I was in a pinch once and bought an off brand (can't remember the brand now) that was made by Goodyear. Went all over Tellico and other places without ever getting stuck. Dayton Timberline MT's aren't bad either.Shop the local tire shops and see what you can find.|

|JCS05Rubi||By the way, DC is using the BFG Mud Terrains on the Rubicons now(new from the factory I mean) I have also heard very good things about all three tires listed above. If I keep my Rubi through another set of tires, the Coopers will be them.|
|07-18-2007 06:27 PM|
If its a trail jeep only its really tough to beet a swamper.
|07-18-2007 06:14 PM|
|debruins||either BFG MT"s or pro comp MT's both are great|
|07-18-2007 05:16 PM|
|jjseel||I love my BGF MT's|
|07-18-2007 05:00 PM|
|kg4kpg||I guy behind me at Tellico one year had to winch himself over crap I was going over with 31's. He had 33's (I think). Might as well be sporting drag slicks in my opinion.|
|07-18-2007 02:26 PM|
|Scoob||I agree. Mine was witnessed as well...not here say. I SEEN a guy get stuck at the trailhead with a set of these tires. We laughed for 15 minutes before pulling him out|
|07-18-2007 02:21 PM|
poor on/off road traction
wear very quickly
very loud on road noise
....experience here, not hear say Attachment 2050
|07-18-2007 02:20 PM|
|HkdOnJP||well that definitly answers my question then in your opnion whats a good 33x10.50 i was looking at a super swamper radial|
|07-18-2007 02:03 PM|
It's pronounced THORNTURDS. They are the only tire that can rival the goodyear GSA's in the Get Stuck Anywhere department. Plus you get the added fact that its an interco tire. Which means its not going to balance worth a darn as well.
Lousy off road traction
Lousy on road traction
Dont balance well
Only pro is some people think they look cool.

What is wrong with these tires. Everyone i have asked say dont get the thornbirds there bad etc etc. WHy what are the pros and consof them.
