Fred1 I'm running 35s with the d30 chromoly insert. It gives a little more piece of mind when on the trail. Specs on the LJ are below.

I'm running 37 iroks on a stock shaft d30 and haven't had an issue and I wheel pretty hard.

I planned on doing a 60 front but after reading how everybody seems to be an expert on the fact that a 30 can't handle big tires I wanted to prove it wrong....53,000 miles later and I've only done ujoints once....I'm happy with it.

Hell look at ultimate adventure from last year. How many tj's on 37's with d30's were there?

Tjkk OCV jpTalon- any of you guys running D30s on the front run into any issues with 33 or 35 inch tires in terms of breakage? I won't be doing serious crawling, more flatland trails and mud holes. What gearing- still 3.73?

OCVinMan Heres my LJ with a 4 inch rough country lift and 2 inch spacer combined, sits on 33 mtz's

All depends on my driving behavior and if its mostly highway or city. Im actually getting better highway milage than when I had my 33x12.5x15s (about 14-15 mpg with my 35's) But city driving Im about the same as with my 33's (now around 11-12mpg). I might add that I tend to be a very "spirited" driver. Im sure if I took it easier on the streets and kept it under 75mph on the highway those #s would improve.

rbloodhound They don't rub but I can barley fit my hand between the tire and rear spring.

rbloodhound To be honest I bought it like it sits. I did put washers on the stops when I did the brakes. It still has the 30 geared to 4:88.

I wanted a stock jeep that I could build. But the price was right on this one. I also know the shop that built it. They do great work.

I have a list of mods that I want to make it my own. Metalclaok fenders and body armor with new wheels and tires are on the top of my list.

flint Bloodhound...

No spacers? I have Moabs as well and have wanted to put 285/75/16 on but am worried I will have rubbing. Did you put washers on the steering stops?

Tjkk Bloodhound- nice LJ. What axle are you running up front? Is it still a 30 regeared to 4.88?

rbloodhound My LJ has a 6" superlift long arm kit. 4:88 gears, currie off road sway bar, warn bumpers, best top sun rider with tinted windows.

I'm not running spacers. 315/75/16 BFG. I haven't had rubbing issues yet. Not many rocks in Louisiana.

I also just added EBC yellow stuff brake pads.

I have plans for lots more stuff. It just takes money.

Good luck getting any Rubicon Express parts right now... they are closed pending "restructuring".

CRolandLJ Bloodhound, I'm curious about your set up. Lift/tire size and description please? And did you need wheel spacers or do the stock rubicon wheels have less backspacing than the other jeep wheels?

That is one of the Rokmen jeeps. The tube fenders are produced by them and you can get them from the Rokmen site. NOTE...YOU have to weld them together. The hylines do not come welded together nor will they weld them for you unless you take your jeep to there one shop in CO.
