bluvikng You can always lower the body lift, if you want too. It is not preferred on the rocks because of the extreme body twisting that is done. I have already had to reweld, and strengthen, some of mine. If you aren't going to do crazy rock crawling, and don't mind the huge cap between the body, and frame, it is no big problem.

Dare2BSquare Yeah, and the suspension lift seperates money from your wallet.

steveshra I am looking at one that has a 3" body lift. Does that pose any potential problems with the suspension or handling.... again, please excuse my ignorance!

bluvikng A suspension lift is more expensive, looks better, and gives you more articulation. A body lift is a cheap way to seperate your body from the frame, which allows a taller tire.

Body vs. Suspension Lift

Hey Guys,
I am new to Jeeps and offroading and I am looking to buy my first YJ. Can you help me understand the difference between a body lift and a suspension lift? What type is better? I am looking to do mostly road driving with occasional lite off-roading/mudding. No major rock crawling. Thanks for the help!
