Adventurous Welcome to WF from a fellow Jeep Chick. I have the BFG MT's and love them. By the way - I've found out that "finish" doesn't exist when it comes to Jeeps. I keep emptying my pockets but there's always something that I want to add or change.

GrnTJ Sounds like a good lookin ride. Shouldnt of let your husband win! Haha. Anyway, Id suggest you look at some Mud Terrain tires. Wether it be the Pro Comps or BFG. Either of those do great and they wear very well. Especially if its a dd, your gonna want something like a mud terrian. I have the Pro Comps (old style) and they are a great tire. It bites really well in sand, on rocks, and in wet conditions. Surprisingly enough it does amazing in mud too. Although I wish it self cleaned a little better but I can say I have never been stuck in the mud once yet and I have been tryin to. Im sure I'll meet the right pit one day to get me but it hasnt come along yet. Good luck and welcome!

02Prove Welcome aboard. Sounds like you have a nice couple of projects going there. I would suggest you really do some research on tires. If you go with MTs the MTZs have gotten some favorable reviews but they wear quick. I would suggest you stay away from the Baja claws as I have seen more bad reviews than good and have witnessed poor performance on the trails in various sizes and on various rigs.

I am running the BFG MTs and I am quite pleased with thier on and off road performance. They get great reviews and I know of at least one rig in my club that has 30k miles on his and PLENTY of tread left. I have also heard good things about the Maxxis Bighorn Mud tires as well as the Goodyear MT/Rs.

Post up some pics of the Jeeps when you get a chance.

Girl Project "Chick" Alert

Hey Guys and Gals!

Happy Jeep Day! I currently have 2 jeeps. One is a 2001 Jeep wrangler, 4.0, nothing really done to it yet. I am more of a oldie when it comes to jeeps. The newer jeeps are too comfortable. Although, comfortability is important, when it comes to "jeep wranglers" we don't need to be very comfortable. I also have a 1990 jeep wrangler islander and I call it "the smurf", why you ask? Well, my pretty little jeep is smurf blue and I love it....but my husband wants to paint it corvette yellow, so I had to let him win. Let me tell you about the jeep. I bought the 1990 jeep in 2001 and it had a 4.2 ltr engine which died on me several times and it was carbeurator, which I can't stand because to fix it, I had gone through 11 carbeurators. But it still didn't fix the problem. So I decided to buy an engine off ebay for that little sucker so I could switch out the engine easily...haha...ya right. I bought a 2004 jeep wrangler engine with only 4000 miles on ebay for $1500 which I thought was a hell of a deal. I got everything with it, from air conditioning to fuel injection....damn was I happy! well my jeep sat in the driveway for a couple of years until we had someone to do the swap. We finally had someone install it but they didn't really do a good job. The engine runs smooth, but everything that I wanted, I didn't really get, like air conditioning would have been nice, there is no tilt in the sterring and my legs touch the steering wheel because it is so close to the seat. I got my 4 inch lift kit installed which was nice, runs pretty ruff but I like it. Project "Chick" is not fully complete as of yet but hopefully, doors will open to finish this project.

Right now, I'm looking for tires, I think the widest I can go is 33x12.50 because I have 15 inch rims. I'm looking at MT baja mtz tires....anyone have any other suggestions? I want a rugged look but tires that wil last me a while. If anyone has any other suggestions about my project, please give me a hand!

Thanks for reading!

Have a jeep day!
