|L.A.Offroad||Its the Rack and pinion inside the column. They are made out of Plastic or pot metal. It is a little bit of a job to replace. You can buy it at any good parts store.|

|Undead-89||The part that actually would be flaking out isn't the lock cylinder. It is the linkage or the switch itself which is mounted on the Steering column in the Dash.|

Ignition / Starter Switch Question???? Please Help!!!
My problem is that my jeep ignition switch stays in accessory position while jeep is off. The E-Brake light stays on while jeep is off. Also when I turn the key to shut the jeep off... the jeep stays running??? So i figured the key switch is bad.
Ok , so today i ventured to change the lock cylinder and turn signal switch in my 88 YJ. It really wasn't that difficult as far as removal and installation. Jeep turned ON and OFF the first few times... THEN..
I'm still having the same problem. E-Brake light is on while jeep is off, dash lights stay on while jeep is off and jeep stays running when i turn key to the off position.
Where do I go from here... I'm going to check the starter switch tomorrow... thats all thats left... right?
