|Garyk||Air temp sensor should be on the intake manifold towards firewall....could be a bad wire or connection there.|

|benaldridgejr||Intake air temp sensor. Where is this located at? My MAP code is clear now tho. Light came on again today and the intake air temp code and a generator feild code are now on.. I aint worried bout the generator code right now.|

|Tyewilly||Yes, the map sensor is in the middle of the firewall. Check the vacuum line over really well. The stock plastic lines are bad about cracking and chafing. Mine had a hole worn in it from rubbing against the wiring harness for the sensor. It's a good investment to just replace all the plastic vacuum lines with rubber, if they aren't broke, they will be before long.|

|benaldridgejr||Ok guys, im confused.. The MAP is the one on the pass side of the throttle body. Right? The other on the back of it is a IAC or TPS. Right? The vaccum hoses all go to the bottom driver side of the throttle body,not to any sensors it looks like.. Or is the map sensor the flat plastic thing in the middle of my firewall that the vaccum goes to from the throttle body.. Jeeps are a different world to me.. Uugg|

mine is a 95 wrangler with the 2.5 engine, it comes from the bottom of the throttle body over and up to the map sensor.

|benaldridgejr||You say there is one leading right to it? I know there is some on the other side ofthe throttle body but didnt see any going to my MAP. Same year and engine?|

|wild||Mine did the same sort of thing and I found that the plastic vacuum line that runs to the map sensor had a small crack in it. Spliced in a new piece of line and it runs like a champ. The code showed that I was running rich.|

BAD misfire and sputtering!!
95 YJ 2.5L
Mine just started this crap today!!! Wheelin in swamp like crap yesterday drove home and to work in the morn fine. Went to lunch and started backfiring and sputtering BAD! changed my plug wires cap and button,(plugs are new) drove it. The same.. Read some things on the forums and heard the coolant temp sensor on the front controls the MAP sensor.. Unplugged the temp sensor. ran fine. Replaced it ran like crap, unplugged it, ran fine for a sec then like crap. Plugged it back in and drove home high revvin the poo out of it. Stopped actin up..ran fine. But still feels a lil under powered. Unplugged the O2 and drove no different. Ran codes, got nuthin usefull but the MAP code.. 23 i think.( the code that i started with) I have the Batt un hooked to clear codes for the mornin. I hope this thing makes it to work.. Any ideas yall? And i seemed ta have a lil blow by too, some dark black oil/gas mix stuff in the breather hose an in the throttle body that i also sprayed out.. I hope that maybe my problems and figurin out may help others somehow too.. Uuggg.
