Road_House Yea sorry but i have to agree to keep it. I hate my hard top so much and I cry when I put it on but living in mass after this winter you need it. I remember a couple of time this year I wake to see almost 2 feet of snow on top. I am pretty sure it there not rated for that weight.

I am going to buy that softopper in the tan color for my green unlimited as soon as I can get pasted the 5 foot snow pile to put it under my porch. I think there tops are great and I see how long I will hold out not putting the hard top back on.

IndyJeepMan Personally I'd go softtop they arent bad at all in the winter months. Atleast here in Indiana, some say security. Well I fire back with I don't keep Jack squat in my Jeep unless its in my bolted down locked container, and comp. insurance so if it gets slashed. Vualah, new softtop

I'm sure everyones situations are different I suppose. I wouldn't mind one but if I had one I'd sell it for the armor and stuff I want.

I'm in Illinois, we have it hurting my windows? Tinted replacements are under $200 for my top.

Come to think of it; who makes a frameless top for a YJ anyway? I thought only the TJ's were gettin' em?

Yeah, that was the day I brought her home. She's changed a lot since then; we both have. We've laughed and cried, sang and cursed.

I may not be a smart man, but I know what love is.

shinysideup Sell it!! Hard tops suck and they're expensive to repair. Quality soft top is no louder than a hard top imo. First thing I did when I bought my YJ was sell the hard top and rip out the carpet. Useless as tits on bull.

You'll probably get more money selling it solo than if you asked more money selling it on the jeep. I'd start at +/-$400 depending on condition and features, but I'd wait until Fall when more people may be looking.

Geno IMO No way do I sell the hard top! Its so much nicer in the winter with a hard top than a soft top. Some of the drawbacks to a ST ( condensation, noise, total lack of security ).
Plus your Jeep will fetch a higher price with a HT if you ever sell it.

Undead-89 If you ever plan on towing a rental trailer (i.e. U-Haul) they will not rent to a Jeep with a soft top.

I like the Hard top in the winter. I'm always worried about extreme cold and plastic windows. I can scrape the glass with no worries and less chance of having blind spots. Also, the Hard top is like having traction weights in the back for the rear tires.

Changing out the top twice a year really isn't that big of a deal to me. Though for some reason, the older I get the harder it is to put on the hard top solo.

How much it is worth depends on a lot of things. You could probably get 300-800 depending on condition, location, how many Jeep are around your area, etc.

Keep the hardtop or sell ??

I'm considering selling the hardtop to help cover the coat of a frame less softtopper , about $500 bucks for the softtop I want , So now I'm wonder if its worth while to keep the hardtop and have the hassle of switching back and forth between seasons or just go softtop all year round.... Is it that big of a difference in the Northeast between have a softtop or hardtop in the winter? The Jeep is not my daily driver , I have company car. Whats my Hardtop worth ?
