teddybear1 Rocks and Valleys Off Road Park in Harrison, just north of Clare. Been there twice. Also Bundy Hill in Jerome, US 12 west of 127 south of Jackson. Have not been there yet, but planning in the spring. Heard it's pretty good. We like Drummond Island to wheel. Been to 2 Jamborees there. Turtle Ridge has lots of variety and is a portion of the Jamboree there.

teddybear1 I'm new to the forum and live in Lansing. I love driving in the winter, but use 4 hi alot...especially on ice or hard pack snow. Go drift busting whenever we can. 06 TJ Rubicon w/ 3 1/2 " Rubicon Express Lift, 285 75R 16 Goodyear MTRs...not good on ice or packed snow, but love the deep stuff. Oh, got a Superwinch 9.0 on the front, so can get out of most places. Looking to join a MI club and do weekend wheelin with a group.

NewYJOwner Well, this is actually my first winter driving a jeep (not the first jeep I've had) and I do find it squirrly, considering the short wheelbase and light weight I expected to have to change my driving habbit's to compensate for it. Brake earlier and easier, don't mash the throttle or wind up getting sideways, and use 4 hi alot in the snow.

sevenservices 20 miles north of Lapeer, 10 miles south of Caro, 25 miles east of Saginaw... Near the heart of the thumb.

Looking at cruisen' down to the Mounds for the first time with the family this weekend. Saturday should be a pretty busy day out there being Memorial weekend & all, but then again, a lot of people may be up north so it could be a ghost town? We'll see...

Newbie

Hey, I'm a new Jeep owner. Always been a Toyota owner until now... the right place at the right time. Anyway, I'm hoping to maybe make the Jamboree this summer, if my stocker can make the trails. I haven't done any mods yet... but the addiction has started!

Plop I went to the mounds in my 2wd ranger last year so did my brother in his 2wd ranger, we both had 5" lifts with 31's. It was on T-day and there was a bit of snow out there, the place is fine, just dont go plowing through mud holes till you see someone else do it. I got my ranger stuck in a hole that looked small but under up right to the bottom of my doors. I plan on going out there this year with the YJ, first time there with 4x4 so it should be tight now.

RhcSavage21 sand bags in the rear kinda help. but i have yet to try it , this will be my first winter driving it and doesn't matter the vehicle i always have a blast! heck my last car was a oldmobile 88 and was FWD. pop in reverse in a parking lot and smash the petal. all i can say is WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

and as far as parts i'm gonna do a RC 4" LA kit, SYE kit, 33"x12.50 tires and a couple intake and exhaust mods schedule for the beginning of the summer next year! now i will say I'm a wimp, i have yet to go onto a trail and am to chicken to go to mounds ORV. my cousin went there and she killed two transmissions as well as a number of other things. any easier trails in the southeast area/thumb?

Not for this chick!

I tried driving it in the winter and it just scares me. I'm used to a heavier vehicle in the winter I guess and it too is a 4 x 4 so I just store it in the never used part of my 30 x 40 shed. No harm, no foul. Call me a wimp, I know.

LOL at work Ssshhhhh

Eating lunch and thinking it sux that I'm too much of a wimp to drive the Jeep this winter! Dude, it scares the crap out of me. What projects are you thinking of doing? This year I've put on 33" tires, 4 " lift, 7" flares and a swing out tire carrier with a hitch. Ran out of money and still looking for the problem in the engine or drivetrain or something that gets me everytime I drive it down the road- a hiccough is what I call it. Oh, and now my back window on the hardtop keeps popping open. Sick of it so cleaning it up this weekend and putting a cover on it.
