doclouie Carry candy or something with you and share with those you meet out of the trail you can had it out just like you would hope someone would do to you.

TJ2 You'll find that driver skill is every bit as important as lift, lock, and rubber. Enjoy

PS Sway bar quick disconnects increase your off road ability more than almost any low cost mod.

doclouie I have not ever had any problems on the trail, but Moab is full of the nicest people in the world and not just Jeepers. Last time I was down there we ran into a large group of 4 wheelers from all over the US. They were eating lunch and invited us over to have some with them. There were 4 Jeeps and about 15 people although most were kids. Just to talk and get to know them we all ate lunch with them and had a good old time. Greatest salt of the earth. If I could find an engineering job down there I would move in a minute. You will have the time of your life. Make sure and at least hike up the Moab rim trail. One of the short sweet extreme trails that is a little freaky, but is my favorite one to watch. My Jeep is not up to the task or at least not yet.

03rubi For excellent discriptions, pics., and videos of Moab and Colorado, go to "TrailDamage.com". This site will give directions to trail heads and rates them on a scale of 1-10. The pics. and vids. will give you a realistic idea of what to expect. With your Jeep you will be able to do trails in the 4-5 range depending on you experience and driving skills. Have a great time! Oh yes,and try to hook up with some one because you don't want to get stranded our there alone, it could be a very long walk out. Many times you can find Jeepers assembling in the morning at the McDonalds on the South side of town or at the City Market parking lot.

No suspension lift is good and bad. Good on steep, smooth climbs. Bad for getting high centered. You'll run into a lot of both.

No legal issues with running topless and doorless.

You've got the right plan. Start off easy and push it as you feel comfortable. Air down, and take it easy on the throttle.

UnlimitedLJ04 Moab has everything from mild to wild. Buy the Charles Wells "Moab, UT Backroads & 4-Wheel drive trails" book.

Stock jeeps do fine in Moab...just stay on trails that you're comfortable with and follow the ratings in the book. If you don't feel comfortable, turn around.

doclouie Nice Jeep. Make sure and remove the trailer hitch insert or you will be hitting it everywhere. You will be able to run 80-90% of Moab in that rig. My favorites are Hell's Revenge and Poison Spider. Hell's Revenge I think is a must for everyone who makes it to Moab. If you run Poison Spider I would make sure you have a GPS or you can get lost pretty easily. I really like 7 mile rim for the views and Fins & Things is quite unique. Do you have an auto or a stick? This makes quite a bit of difference in what trails you may want to run although you will most likely be the only ones on the trails this time of year.

TjTheo 3 inch body lift is two inches too much.
Id watch out your clearance on things. sure you have 33's but your clearance isnt that much better than stock.
never been to moab but im just saying to watch out.

How will I do in Moab?

Hey Guys, my brother and I are going on a man trip to Moab next week and I am going to tow my 01 Jeep TJ and we are wanting to find some fun trails that are fairly challenging but not axle popping, transfer case cracking ventures.

My jeep has a 3" body lift, 33" mud tires, 4.56 gears with a detroit true trac in the rear. Any recommendations on what trails to hit?
