Ibuildembig Yeah you could do it with hot rolled tubing and bend it easier but since this needs to take a beating I used cold rolled and it takes alot of torch to get it to do what you want. I did another one last night that I like better, I will get some pics today

94 yj Very cool. Did you heat the 3/8 rod to bend with torch. Did the original cover warp at all with all that welding on top of it? Nice monogram job!

Ibuildembig Here's what I got done tonight even though the tavern was open haha

the BR on the right side is an inside joke, dad's name is Reg and a long time ago my buddies started calling him BR for Big Reg....he has no idea I did this and I think its gonna be hillarious when he see it

Im sure he will try to tear it up at some point

8.8 Rear axle diffcover

Since I am putting a 8.8 in my ole mans SOA project I figured he needed a better solution for a diff cover than the stock tin foil one.

Traced the shape on some 1/4" thick plate

Cut the rings out

3/8" cold rolled rod around the seam

Just picked up my bigger rod today so I will have more pics tonight.
