The Everhardt with the absolute best range would be the SOTT series (in the fibreglass ant.) but at the cost of not having a weather band. If you don't use weather then this is not a problem. If you do use weather then you can run the Super Tiger (STT) which is a 1 wave antenna that has weather band and works great. Its what I run, 4 foot on the road and 3 foot when wheeling.
The 3/4 wave Super Flex is just that. An antenna to run if you wheel in low hanging trees or your antenna gets banged around a lot. I have a friend in WA state that runs it. Great antenna if you need the flexy. But its hand tune only as it does not come in a tunable tip model. But it does have weather band.
Notice how the spring has not even come into play yet.
Another great antenna is the Wilson silver load.

well i have a question. No more fighting about which brand to buy. I just want an idea of what antenna is best. I have decided on a Uniden P68XL through Mini 8 wiring ( i am of teh school of thought that I will use all 18 ft....i think its 18 ft), and mount the antenna above the left brake light. I am leaning towards using an everhardt antenna... but I need to know which one to get...
I want 3 or 4 feet long. But whats the deal with 3/4 wave vs 1 1/2 wave cs 1 wave. Which one is gonna give me the most range???
