relichunter Put in the transmission and transfer case last night and it fit perfectly. It turned out to be a very easy swap.

Now I need to find a cheap windshield here in noco. Any suggestions are appreciated.

relichunter Well I managed to score a 2000 trasfer case so I'll just answer my own question about a 2000 instead.

np231 swap in 1999 tj 2.5 - need advice

Hi everyone,
I just picked up a 1999 tj 2.5 w/5spd. To get it on the road I need to replace the t-case. I have a deal going for a t-case from a 1989 tj 2.5 w/5spd.

From what I have read this week I believe the splines and shaft lengths will match and that these np231 cases should have the same bolt pattern.

HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS:

1. Are the sensors and speedometer gear the same?
2. Is the vacuum hose the same?
3. What else would be different?
4. Does anyone here in Colorado (I'm in Fort Collins) have a better transfer case for sale? I am thinking $150 - $350 price range.

Thanks!
