Driver of yellow Wrangler: approximately 1/2 of my ability to focus was diverted to my 6 & 7 year olds "sound effects" in the back seat (my ears were diverted, not my eyes, but that's enough), the other 1/2 was focused on driving (I can't listen to the radio and them, it's one or the other).
After the Jeep went by (I saw it but didn't SEE it) my wife said, "You didn't wave back". UGH!
There you have it.

|sonofabeach||Just wave at the Jeep and not at the Biff or Muffy driving it.|

I've got a JK and I wave. I don't get many back though. Maybe it's because I look like a soccer mom with my Jeep full of girls but we ALL wave.

In my area the jeep wave was almost dead, but I keep on waveing like crazy, after about 3 mounths, every one knows I am going to wave so they wave back.
So don't give up on the wave, we older folks know it is a sing of respect for a fellow jeeper, the new owners of new jeeps don't realy care, it's there dd and that is all, as long as they don't spell there latte on the way to work, all is good.

No wave: No big deal
If they don't wave maybe it's not intentional.
Possible reasons for no wave:
-Children in back seats require attention (listening) that could have spent waving
-Wife in passenger seat requires you to act like you are listening.
-They are busy shifting gears.
-They are looking a a deer that's about to run across the road.

|doublerinnys||Actually the opposite around here. The TJ's won't wave, but the JK's will. I don't care what anyone drives. If it's a Jeep Wrangler, I'm waving.|

|CarolinaJeepGirl||here in NC seems like everyone has a jeep but only people with the older models wave. I always get a kick out of someone beating me to it. I think i shocked a guy yesterday when i waved at him first LOL|

I have encountered the same with jk owners. Iam on my third jeep an have noticed that most waves come from tj's or Jeeps that are customized. Seems like the new jeep owners don't really understand the tradition of the wave. I just keep waving maybe they will catch on.

what's up with the "wave"?
Hey all, I am the owner of a 2004 Rocky Mountain Wrangler. Now as they say, this isn't my first "big rodeo" with owning a Wrangler but it's been a few years since my last one. Here is my issue....what happened to the always friendly and rarely missed "Jeep Wave" when you pass a fellow Jeep owner? It's very hit and miss....is this something we are not doing anymore? I notice that the ones that usually do not wave are the owners of the brand new Jeeps and most of the time they look at you like your some sort of nut case lol.
Anyone know whats up with this or am I just approaching unfriendly people lol?
