Wes does that unit come with the necessary wiring as well?
That unit will come with the same thing that every other unit will come with (harness that plugs into the back and has wires hanging off). That's very good news that they didn't cut the factory harness. Did they leave all the wiring up to where it plugged into your old headunit? If so, you probably wont need anything assuming that it was installed correctly. If they unplugged it from the factory harness you will need this: Amazon.com: Scosche CR01B Power 4 Speaker Connector for Chrysler, 1984-Up: Electronics

And here is your antenna extension: Amazon.com: Scosche Axt12 12-Inch Antenna Extension Cable: Electronics

The wiring is really easy since it is color coded and I can talk you through it. Do you know how to solder or do you have a set of crimp pliers and connectors? Another good thing about that JVC unit is that if you choose to run a headphone jack cable to your iPod, you can actually run it to the back of the stereo rather than the front since it also had an aux input on the back.

I have a Tuffy Console and my ipod is ALWAYS locked in there, even when in use. The cable runs under the console up behind the dash to the Alpine HU I have. My faceplate will go in the console when I'm out and about, but when I'm home, it is in the house.

I also leave a few .45 spent brass rounds in my cup holder along with a recent target I shot up in my seat pockets. It just happens to have a silhouette of a thief on it and all the shots are center mass or center cranium. There were a few shots in the groin too for good measure.
Lol that's a good one yea, they were probably in andout in under 5 mins. I useto have the tuffy security console in my yj and it was awesome just rattles little too much for my liking.

TJChris27 Oh sorry failed to mention the faceplate was locked in the center console so the ripped the console right open got the remote control, head unit, and a roll of paper towels lol as well as the in dash unit itself. Still wonder how our "security guard" didn't see anything it must have take at least 10-15 mins... and my neighborhood is not that big

From posts of people that have the ivault, it's not very good. It's likely that your dash will get broken when someone prys it out.

KP Texan I just ordered this one a couple days ago:

JVC Arsenal KD-A525 CD receiver at Crutchfield Signature

Enter promo code 3A825 and they will knock $20 off so it's only $90 shipped to your door.

Not only does it have a front Aux input but it also has a USB input which will allow direct control of your iPod and also charge it at the same time. I've owned quite a few different brands of H/Us in recent years (sony, kenwood excelon, alpine, pioneer) and from what I understand these newer JVCs are very underrated head units. That model is also part of their Arsenal line which gives you a 2 year warranty.

Did those a-holes cut your harness or anything? What wiring did they leave?

FamilyGuyJeep Sorry to hear about your head unit. That sucks. I had some punk kid steal a pack of gum out of the cup holder because that was the only thing not locked.

The wiring harness came with it as well as the mounting bracket. The only thing I had to buy was the antenna extender (I think it was $9 at best buy) and if Iím not mistaken shipping was free. I always keep my faceplate locked in my center console (which I know isnít difficult to break into, but still safer than leaving it in the open). Also there is a little red light that blinks on the receiver when the faceplate is off which looks similar to that of a car alarm, which may also be a deterrent

Pmedg That sucks about your 2 weeks of theft. here is the head unit i put in my TJ. i like it alot, and its $109 which is pretty reasonable. face plate comes off, and my favorite part is the bluetooth so i can streat pandora. I hooked the speaker on the driver side dash and it works well, accept for when im driving over 65. it also has ipod hookup.

Head Unit Jacked!!!

Well living in Myrtle Beach, SC my doors are never on and some SCumbag/s stole my damn head unit last night!!! Called the police and got a police report, just to have it on record...still very pissed off as of now, since that is the 3rd time something of mine has been stolen/broken into in 2 weeks. Started off by stealing my mini-fridge (24 case of coors light in it... more upset about the beer than the fridge lol), then someone slitting the screens on my back patio, now the dang head unit. Someone must really hate me is all I can think of. Except my whole neighborhood was broken into all the patio screens of over 30 condos were sliced up with things stolen. But that's neither here nor there. I need a new head unit and i'm not an electrical genious so, what's something easy to install? Only thing i really care about is that it has to have an aux jack so i can use my ipod (which will probably need to be locked onto my damn belt at this point) nothing fancy just something that works well, with a detachable faceplate. Thanks guys
Oh and all they did was send a security guard to walk around at night!!! WTF she does nothing and doesn't even carry a gun! And my head unit got stolen while she was on duty!!!
