What is the better choice? The tube paint with the brush or the aerosol spray paint?
The applicator tube is best for touch up. The spray is not as simple as spraying the chip and is not considered a quick touch up process.

MMJ89586 I just called my dealership and they mailed my paint tube to me for no cost. Plus a free Jeep hat. My Jeep is Sahara tan so I thought finding the perfect match may be hard to find somewhere else.

The mopar paint can be used either as a brush or you can remove the little spring plug in the lid and use it as a pen. I touched up a scratch yesterday on my surf blue pearl coat and it looks great! Very easy.

Texas TC I was real lucky here. I did not know the cost until I read it here. My dealer had a new customer orientation one night and I went. The program was a bit lame but they gave us some cool free stuff and dinner. One of the things we got was a certificate for a free tube of touch-up paint for our specific Jeep color. I picked it up at the parts counter and it is a dead on color match. I agree that the Chrysler touch-up paint is a great product especially when it is FREE.

GroundHawg I got keyed couple weeks ago. Went to my dealership and ordered some Red Rock. Next day and $10 later I had it.

Fixed the key mark good enough to where u can't tell unless you get up and really look for it. While I was it, I painted up all the scratches on the doors, hood, and sides from tree branches, and chips from stones. Then I painted my paint chipped door hinges. I just couldn't stop!

For $10 I fixed everything. Light scratch from trees and stones it cleans up 100%

Wolf1 Have to admit, Mopar touch up paint is dead on. I can't see any of the chips I touched up, but HATE giving the stealership any more money....even a ten spot...especially since most of my money lately is going directly into the gas tank.

myjeepandmydog Good to know, thanks everyone. Headed to the dealer on tuesday to get a few recalls checked out so I will be sure to ask about the paint then.... Any need for clear coat?

JIMBOX All the auto parts stores--Kragens/Zone/Peps Boys-have a paint section near all their spray paint and they carry almost all the auto colors in 4 oz bottles/W pinstripe type brush--

If they don't have the code #, you can get one REAL close and then touchup scratches-

My "Detonator Yellow" is very close to Nissan "sunshine Yellow" and Corvette "Competition Yellow" so I've always got a couple bottles-

Good luck

Kspike I just ordered some from my dealership. $10 plus 10% off because I bought the jeep there.

Tarby If your ride is that new, I would check out a dealership and get the exact factory color.
Can't go wrong that way...besides, once you get the factory colored paint and their small container, you have one to take to a local paint shop with the correct code on the container to refill when you need to....just my experience...

Touch up paint

Where is a good place to get some touch up paint? I found a nick in my paint that must have been from a stone. I have searched a few sites but haven't had much luck finding a Natural Green match for my 2011 JK. I also wondered if I ought to get some clear coat to make the area look better? I need to order it soon, I live right on the beach and rust is a major issue here. Thanks in advance.
