Badge1236 If it is an auto trans than whatever an autoparts store carries should be fine. If it is a manual then 20w-50 would be what I recommend.

AzTJ Check the tranny dip-stick and it should say what fluid to use(if its the original). The stuff the dealer sells is the same as whatever AutoZone carries.

Quadra-Trac???

Ok so I got my jeep a couple of weeks ago. Its a 79 cj7. its got the Quadra-Trac. and know I have a tranny leak. I was told by the old owner that I need the tranny fluid from the dealer, and so did the dealer. I was told by auto zone that I can run dexron 3 I was woundring if any body has had luck with this? I dont want to pay to have the tranny done right know so I was going to keep toping it off. I also have another t-case its a bog worner(spelling?) but Im not sure wich one, does any body know how to decode the numbers?
