I just received my front bumper system and it did not include the skid plate.. Did yours have the skid plate? I had read that it was included, but AEV is saying that its not..

|club968||I would definitely say it got the full 2 inches. I actually have it measured at closer to 2.5|

|club968||I don't know how it compares to other lifts, but it definitely rides better than stock. Not as "bouncy", overall a slightly stiffer ride imo. I have the bilstein shocks. Haven't been offroad with her yet, hopefully next weekend.|

Mopar lift question
I've been thinking about getting the 2 inch Mopar lift, so if you don't mind, how do you like it so far? Have you been off-road with it and how did it do? Did you get the one with the Bilstein shocks?
|03-26-2011 08:35 PM|
|club968||Better hurry....although they told me the "front bumper system" was not discontinued, there were only 2 left. Now there's only 1 left Don't know how long til they assemble more.|

Have fun wheelin.

|IndyJeepMan||Now you just need some 35's to fill in that gap|
|03-26-2011 07:26 PM|
I paid $1250. The mopar off road bumpers are about $600. The premium AEV bumper MSRP is around $1200 but doesn't include the winch mount or the front skid plate.
The ride definitely feels a lot smoother, cant wait to take her out. I think we're all planning on doing something in the next week or two. Can't wait!!!!
|03-26-2011 07:20 PM|
What did you pay for that bumper system? If it's in the $600 range that my dealer quoted me, I'm gonna go pick that one up!
|03-26-2011 07:12 PM|
|JPWheelin||Worth the wait! How is the ride with the new shocks? Go get her stuck and tell us how that winch works|
|03-26-2011 07:09 PM|
Yeah, it's the Mopar "version" of the AEV bumper PN: P5155352. They call it the "Front Bumper System" and automatically includes the AEV bumper, winch mount (winch is optional), bumperettes, and front skid plate all in one price. About the toughest bumper I could find.
I gotta go back and have them install the front axle skid which they forgot to do but otherwise, the only mod I have left to do in the near future is taking off the top and doors!!!

It looks great but that looks like an AEV front bumper and I LOVE it! Are you certian it is a Mopar bumper?
Can you share what you paid for those parts?
Here is the pic on Quadratec site for the Mopar bumper:

Well, the dealership just called me a couple of hours ago to let me know all my parts were in (I guess the 4-7 days thing they told me was a gross underestimation). I'll be dropping it off tomorrow afternoon and should have it back on Tuesday hopefully. Will update with before and after pictures once I get it back.
This waiting is unbearable

|Grog||Also if you break it on the trail its not covered by warranty. I was doing some crawling and hit my steering stabilizer - hard to argue that the dent in it was a defect.|
|03-09-2011 07:13 PM|
(1) If you modify it, it's not covered, regardless of who installs it. For example, if I put on new wheels, Chrysler will not cover any defects in those wheels. In other words, Chrysler only warranties what came on the Jeep from the factory.
The surprise here is that this includes modifications installed by the dealer. So, new Mopar bumper? Not covered by Chrysler, regardless of who installs it. Don't care if the CEO of Chrysler put it on in your driveway, it's not covered by Chrysler.
However, your dealer or the shop that you bought it from may cover it. Note that this is not Chrysler--it's your dealer or the shop that you bought it from. So, if your new Mopar bumper is defective, perhaps your dealer will fix it out of their pocket--but Chrysler will not.
(2) If your modification damages it, it's not covered, regardless of who installs it. For example, if you put on new wheels that rub against your brake calipers, resulting in the failure of the calipers, Chrysler will not cover the calipers. It would make no difference to Chrysler that the dealer mounted the wheels, though this may persuade the dealer itself to fix the problem.
(3) Anything else will remain covered, regardless of who installs it. Neither Chrysler nor your dealer can refuse to honor your Chrysler warranty simply because you had work done elsewhere. (Unless the modfication causes problems, then refer to #2 above.) For example, you have the small garage install your Mopar bumper and later develop a totally unrelated issue with your brakes that would be covered by warranty. Chrysler will fix your brakes.
Got it?? Don't let anybody jerk you around on this stuff. Lots of dealers like to claim that work elsewhere will "void your whole warranty" and that's a bunch of crap.

|club968||I'm planning on it. The parts guy said something about warrantying the stuff only if they installed it. It came to around $1200 to install everything. I don't know if that's average or not. But he also slipped me the number of his buddy who owns a small garage who would do it for half that if I wanted.|
|03-09-2011 06:17 AM|
|JPWheelin||That's good to know about the prices from the dealer. Are you also having the dealer do the install?|
|03-09-2011 12:35 AM|
|club968||My Jeep is also black. Don't have any pictures yet as I just ordered all the parts. Will take from 4-7 days to get them in and a few more days to get the work done. As soon as I get it all put in I'll get some pictures up here. I hope there won't be any sagging up front, hopefully the installers will compensate for the weight distribution. It was actually one of the reasons I went and bought everything at the same time.|

|snax||What color is you Jeep? I have the COD Black Ops and want that bumper and winch. Would love to see your pics. Does your front end sag from the winch weight?|
|03-08-2011 09:33 PM|
I was debating on whether to get it all piece by piece or just jump in head first. I am still looking for a decent rear bumper and maybe a snorkel after my creek crossing near-incident last weekend.
Funny thing I was actually able to get massive deals through the parts department of a nearby dealership which amazed me. Nearly 25% off everything compared to what I was able to find online.....except for the lift which I paid just about MSRP for. Plus I didn't have to pay any shipping costs. They practically forced me to buy their stuff.
|03-08-2011 09:23 PM|
|JPWheelin||D@mn! You just got all the mods I am hoping to acquire over the next 3 fathers days, Xmases, and birthdays in one shot! Congrats. I love getting stuff toys in the mail.|
|03-08-2011 08:10 PM|
|jeepnpete||is it an auto? Your probably missing the tranny skid plate and will get the inevitable bar!|
|03-08-2011 08:05 PM|
Yes it's a sickness but one we are all to keen on staying sick with
|03-08-2011 06:14 PM|
|jcf||You realise it never stops? every time I do something to mine I see another thing I must have to make the last thing even better! lucky I don't have $ or it would look like a circus ride. Not really I try to be conservative, it's just that sometimes you really really have to have stuff|
|03-08-2011 06:02 PM|
|club968||Yeah, I figure they can try and collect from me when I'm dead. I'm sure I'll be up to a 6 inch lift in no time....not to mention a snorkel and bullet proof siding! But one thing at a time.|
|03-08-2011 05:41 PM|
|jcf||Oh no! I would suggest you get an endless line of credit from your bank & go for it!|
|03-08-2011 05:30 PM|
Now the waiting begins...
So I've had my Rubicon for about 2 weeks and started getting bored...felt like I was missing something.....and then i realized, i was missing this:
Warn 9.5ti XP Winch, PN: 82209325AB
Black door-sill guards, PN: 82210104
Mopar Skid plate (front axle), PN: P5155353
Mopar Rock rails, PN: 82210574AC
Mopar Front off-road bumper, PN: P5155352
Mopar 2-inch lift kit with Bilstein shocks PN: P5155208
You may be asking why mopar?!? My friends sure were....basically I'm a wimp when it comes to modding my cars. Never done it in my 21 years with cars. I realized with a jeep you basically had to. Figured this was about as "conservative" as I could go. Will update with pictures in a couple weeks I hope.....
