FighingFox BTW. Use oxy-acedelyne torch (sorry for the spelling) yellow can usually. Works faster and better then propane, blue can!

FighingFox Yeah, if you can get to both, then heat up both. Get them almost to the glowing point.

Awesome I'm going to try this next!

I can manage to get the bumper off the frame and I have access to the nut...should I heat up both the bolt and nut?

rd-wrangler i hate torx bolts. seriously.

i am going through this also. i got 3 of the 4 out just fine, surprisingly. BUT the last bolt i stripped and its stuck, of course. It started to unscrew but then all of sudden it stop. now i cant even move it at all. I soak it with PB everyday and tried using a vice grips and a hammers but nothing. IT WONT BUDGE!

anybody have any advice on how i can get the stupid torx out?

i was going to try an easy out but i figured it would break because not even a vice grip with hammer moved it....

Front Bumper Bolts....

Just a note..... I had seen several threads about these bolts being quite the PITA.

After 3 hours and a trip to the tool store (O'Reillys had it), got the four T55 bolts holding my "PO wrecked bumper" loose and out.

Technique was simple.......spray liberally with KROIL (Love this stuff). Pound liberally with machine hammer.
Curse VERY liberally about the engineers at Jeep placing the lower T55 bolts too close to the spring suspension to get my 3/8" T55 + 1/2" adapter into the space.
Drive quickly to town (15+ miles), and spend liberally for 1/2" drive T55.
Remove remaining two T55.

Bumper on ground.

Only broke ONE of them off, drilled it out, chiseled out remaining bolt.

Ya gotta love working on a JEEP......or paying someone else to do it.....
