busemans the one on the right is the standard ammo can that everyone on ebay sells, i think 6x8x11? the smaller one is 4x7x9, if i remember right.

chefbean43 That looks awesome!! Nice job. I just mounted my night vision can in between my two front seats as my center console. Looking to do the same kinda thing towards the back. I might have to steal your idea cause it looks great! What are the dimensions of the two cans on either side? Or of the bigger one?

busemans ok guys, its done. now i have so much storage room that i don;t know what to put in anything.

i have 100" synthetic rope and tie straps in the box on the right. bolts, nuts, electrical tape, bug spray, mag light, and things like that in the small box on the left. you see whats in the bog box and how much room is left over. plus, i lifted the rear seat for my kids so they have stadium style seating and their view is level with the wife and i.

oh yes, i took all the odd junk out of the box under the hood and now it has power steering fluid, oil, trans fluid, and battery cleaner spray in it plus a rag for checking the oil.

busemans if you have the 4.0, its easy using the stock jack mount. that mount is a little differen then the one on my 4.2 so you can drill out the welds and cut off the top mounting arm and weld it weld together really nice.

gennybro the ammo can under the hood is a good idea, gonna do that myself.

busemans cool. i am in the process of mounting it in the back. i actually figured since i am pulling my other cans to paint them and to paint the back of the tub area, i might as well lift the rear seat a bit since my kids have been complaining it is too low. so, i have the cans all painted, the back all painted, the front mounts for the back seat lifted and bolted in place, and now i have to figure a way to lift the back area of the seat because my initial idea didn't work out that well

this guy. maybe send him a question to see if he has anymore. all i know is it looks to be perfect for storing junk in and the inside is actually padded but the pading is thick so i am going to remove it and use a different thinner type to control any rattling from metal on metal
I followed that link, and it brought me to their page, but it said they had no items for sale

Brilliant :)

Putting the ammo cans in the back is a great idea since they lock with tailgate, I'm guessing you are going to bolt them down...where do you get an 80mm ammo can??

another ammo can thread

ok, i found the ultimate ammo can for behind the rear seat. i already have two different sized ones that left me lots of room back there but i got tires of not having a large storage area. i also have one in the engine bay replacing ym stock jack mount but using a worked mounting plate.

engine bay:

old rear seat shot:

this is what i bought to go in the back now. i am torn on removing hte two original ones or just mounting this between them and have three seperate storage areas. the original ones cannot be opened when the tail gate is locked because the tail gate blocks the release handles. the new box will also be locked when the tail gate is closed because of hte same thing.

that box is an 81mm ammo can. its not bolted down because i was test fitting but it fits right in. i am going to lift the rear seat about 4 inches because the kids say their legs get sore from being bent so much so i will have even more room after that.
