It's times like these this forum needs "thanks" or "reputation" buttons.

Well done, John Cock..tos..ton

rics1997 I think it suppose to help a little with gas mileage also but don't think it will change it much.

Evevated, a forum vendor, used to give board members discount on their skip plates made for stock bumpers. Not sure if it is still valid but you should finde them in the Vendor section

TangoJK I've ripped mine off twice... after the second time I just left it off. Eventually I'll replace it with a steel skid. Oh and yeah, I've notice a bit of hood flutter without it but nothing serious.

KBR97 Being that it tore off and the mounting holes ripped through...throw it in the garbage, better yet the recycling bin. Its pretty much a useless piece of plastic.
04-04-2011 02:53 PM
sheetsd66 Seriously, just throw some longer spark plug wires on it and run it till the rear air dam falls off, too.

da_duck Well that's no fun

willywaxer That plastic bumper is next to go after that air dam. Mopar and several others make nice metal skids that fit there, but it's a waste if you don't have a decent bumper. I know it is an extra cost, but think of it as a safety issue....at least that is what worked for me with the wifey.

2010WranglerMountain That was the first thing I took off of mine....figured take it off before it gets ripped off.

JIMBOX Actually-all kidding aside !!

It's a Chrysler/Fiat designed "FLAPPER VALVE", to give prewarning to "MUDDERS"-

In a Jeep?

Scooter_Trash I'm pretty sure that's the part that holds the Jeep together.

I ripped mine off on day two. The hood did flutter more at highway speeds, but was fixed after the new bumper went on.

jkjeeper06 I drilled out the plastic screws that hold it up and then I used bolts and wing nuts to hold it up. That way u can take it off quick when you wheel

ZOMB1E That's just your plastic air dam. You might notice some hood flutter on the highway without it, and that's about it.
