Ratdaddy Nice! Thank for all the feed back' I just bought the spider trax 1.25. Now by reading your comments I feel a lot more comfortable putting them on. Thank guys

wheel spacers

i run the spider trax 1.25 spacers and they work fine. be sure and follow instructions. i didnt think i needed lock tight and had one come off. i was lucky and barely moving at the time. my son also runs the spacers and has about 40k mi. with them on with no problems.

doclouie Yes some shops call adapters spacers and spacers adapters. They are not using proper operational definitions. In Utah spacers are illegal and adapters are legal, but most places group them in the same category and will not touch them. Go to a real shop that has real mechanics and you will not have a problem. I put on spacers because I love the look of my Canyon rims.

scgeek12 i ran a cheap set on my s10 for a few years with no problems and i ran her pretty hard they made the truck look 100X better, best thing i bought for it except new tires

Quite true, but for one who had just bought Canyon wheels before I knew about backspacing and larger tire issues, there was NO WAY new wheels would fly at home. My wife likes the stock wheels and agreed the spacers were a better solution for me at that time.

But new wheels are DEFINITELY a great way to go if 1) you hate your current wheels or 2) need to replace them due to a build or 3) don't want to deal with double the lugnuts.

Jerry Bransford For the cost of spacers, I'd go with new aftermarket wheels with less backspacing instead. Even some aluminum wheels are not much more costly to buy than what some spacers sell for.

Standard I use the 1.25 Spidertrax, I like the new stance of my TJ! Like mentioned above, you have twice as many lugnuts, just make sure you follow the instructions and use the Red loctite that comes with the kit and recheck torque after the first 50 miles.

The tire places I went to said the exact opposite! That they would put on small spacers but would not touch my adapters... Found a speed shop/ offroad shop to do it close by though and they brought me back in a week later for free to make sure everything was tight!

erickpl What they said. If you get them, be sure to remove any of the little star washers holding your rotors/drums on. They can be hard to see! But if you don't remove them, the spacers will NOT sit flat against the rotor or drum.

doclouie Have Spidertrax and I love them. Just torque them right and you will never have a problem. Stay away from the cheap ones as they can cause wobbling of your tires, whiich can be hard and expensive to fix.

Xjman1 SpiderTrax 1.25" and no issues. Like the fact they are hub and lug centric. Even most wheels are not hub centric. Do have more nuts to monitor but no biggie IMHO.

I'm thinking of putting on some 1.5 wheel spacers, anyone run them? If so any ups or down I need to know? Thx.....
