C.L. The 4.0 engine is bulletproof, but i'd be nervous about 155k on the auto transmission. Especially if you are going to be using it for constant stop and start (rural mail delivery?). If you could arrange to check/have a mechanic check the fluid for excessive rust/filings it would help for piece of mind. I think the front diff used a flaky vacuum actuator on the YJ series, that has been known to spring leaks or just stop actuating. On the test drive, put it in 4wd and slowly turn in a tight circle (preferably on dirt/grass). As soon as you feel it start to skip or buck, straighten out, then disengage 4wd. If it never tries to skip/buck, the front diff probably isn't engaging. Lastly, crawl under there and look for frame rust. There will probably be discoloration (normal), but walk away if you see pitting or holes in the frame rails.

Found a 94 JEEP WRANGLER YJ to buy have questions!

I've been scouring used car sites for a couple months now looking for a decent, affordable jeep. I kind of like the newer body style with the round headlights but found this:

1994 Jeep Wrangler (YJ) - Square headlight stlye
4.0L Fuel injected engine
155,000 ish miles
Auto transmsission
I have two complete tops and two sets of doors, Hard top with full steel doors and soft top with half doors.
Jeep has a 4" lift (lift springs), 31" tires, SYE, and Sway bar disconnects.

I thought it looked like a decent buy, and will be taking a friend who builds vehicles that he races and goes mudding in to help look it over at the test drive.

I was looking for advice on what to look out for, any problems that this year may be notorious for or just common things that may be bad, go wrong or break soon as I drive off in it. (what would you do if you were looking to buy it)

I would be using it as a part time mail delivery vehicle and my daily driver. I will not be able to work on this myself and dont want to get in over my head putting $$ into it just to keep it running, but figured it would hold up better than anything else I've used to do mail in.

Any and all advice, comments, funny stories etc. would be greatly appreciated!
