KidRock171 Going to 33's trying to avoid a regear as long as possible. What gas skid is out there that is lightweight but tough enough for serious trailing. Rocks in riverbeds. Fallen trees. Hard packed dirt.

I think the stock skid is better than nothing. For the ~$350 that it would cost to get a new gas tank skid, I'd recommend prioritizing skids for other areas of your rig that are more vulnerable and go from there. Maybe look at getting rocker protection or oil pan skid for about the same amount of dough first. If you already have those areas covered, then yeah, the gas tank skid replacement might be a good way to go.

DevilDogDoc Or if you want the protection without adding 60 more pounds to your Jeep get a Savvy GTS. Just as tough, wont rust and weighs a couple more pounds than what's on there now. And if you have a BL, tucks your tank up a couple of inches too.

SilverTJMike Rokmen.com. Beat the crap out of stock skid, when my dealer replaced the tank, they wouldn't until i replaced the skid. If there is no major dents you could hold off but the rokmen is way more solid and even with the spacer Kit it has more clearance.
